"There is no global warming and Obama wasn't born in the USA.  Doesn't that pretty much sum it up?"

"The stimulus saved or created millions of jobs, the earth will burn and oceans will flood the cities in 5 years if we dont go immediately go to 100% windmill power,  and 9/11 was an inside job by Bush."
Doesnt that pretty much sum it up for lefties?

In Response to Re: MSNBC: "Earth could plunge into sudden ice age" : OK, the emails do not change the fact that CO2 and ocean levels are rising, oceans are becoming more acidic, that the Greenland ice shelf is melting, etc. What changes is that the theory that man-made CO2 causes global warming. If CO2 continues to go up as the globe cools that puts man-made CO2 theory into question. And that means that all the laws and regulations around carbon emissions are unneccessary and useless. So of course all the control freak liberals are going to do all they can t sweep this under the rug.

No, it doesn't. The theory is still very much intact, and while science doesn't stand still - it never does - there is no significant proof to the contrary.  Interesting when one considers we're just completing the warmest decade on record.  For me the burden of proof still lies with the decades of peer-reviewed science, and not with the admittedly "wonky" emails and poor judgement of a few undisciplined scientists.

I also submit that the special interests trying to "sweep" MMGW "under the rug" have a "control freak" mentality themselves, as they have much to fear from a world moving away from fossil fuel technology.  As always though, it's far easier for average people to opine on the motivations of others than it is to analyze scientific data.

Matty, you are alone on this thread, does that say anything to you?

Where's Kirk, this is his baby isn't it?  Give it a rest, you cannot trust any data out there because some bozo has compromised the entire industry.  Oh, BTW, it is an industry, not science anymore, folks are making millions (Al baby for one) off of compromised data?

We should conserve energy for the right reasons, not tax the crap out of people that cannot find jobs.

    It's over....deal with it......

Not a critique but I think ya missed something about saving "the poor starving children".
I heard of science fiction but making science (and a crapload of money) out of pure fiction.. Gotta hand it to them. It's brilliant !!

No, and why should it?  Do you always follow the masses blindly?  Do you like American Idol?

It's not over...not even close.  And the data has not been "compromised" in spite of the "bozo" in question.  The science is real.  The industry is real, as is the considerable "climate denier" industry, the latter of which it seems you have been duped into.

Perhaps you don't realize that taxes pay for clean air and clean water, so why should carbon emissions be exempt from their clear, documented damage to the public by way of the environment?

Don't you wish we could dial back the clock to when Boston Harbor was clean and fresh.

Wait a minute...!  It's cleaner now than it has been in centuries.  Huh.

Good point!  All thanks to the environmentally-conscious of us who, er, took the plunge and suggested it be cleaned up.  (not to mention the taxes that paid for said clean-up).

RCRA and CERCLA funded most of the clean up and they are funded primarily by industry.

Unbelieveable.  obama's EPA has announced that CO2 is a harmful air pollutant that they will have the authority to regulate.  That is the most dangerous declaration ever to come out of that political (not environmental) government agency.

They will be able to regulate about any aspect of life: business, agriculture, food, transportation, pets, breathing, flatuslence, etc etc.   Who cares if the elected officials are (rightfully) afraid to go against the will of the American people.  obama's radical, leftist , tree hugger appointees will do it for them.

...and through substantial taxes paid by the chemical and petroleum industries, not to mention those parties responsible for the messes in the first place.

In any case, it is an all-too-rare example of government and industry working together on behalf of the public trust.  Those were the days, weren't they...??

This is so funny.  Toss out all of the GW claims because someone wrote an email saying that the fduged something.  There is no context for which the email was written but some want to see it as a global conspiracy. Usually what happens is an audit is undertaken to review the research and the integrity of the research.  Of course, if it doesn't come out the way some people want it to come out, they'll scream that the audit was performed by biased scientists.  I'm not saying that the research is good or bad.  It would take a scholar months to go over the emails and the research to understand what was being talked about and the impact of the any "fudging".  I had thought the debate about climate change was over and the debate had moved on to the causes of the climate change.  But on this blog the message seems to be that there is no climate change and the planet's climate is constantly changing. The haters crack me up.  They are either screaming that the sky is falling or that other people's claims that the sky is falling are preposterous.   There is no global warming and Obama wasn't born in the USA.  Doesn't that pretty much sum it up?

Dirty, look at the email in my post. The last line in particular about FOIA. This data and the data from NASA has been asked for for YEARS under FOIA. They "accidentally" destroyed the data after a judge ruled they MUST turn it over. How convenient. BTW, they didn't announce it was destroyed until the judge sided against them. Destroying it means ALL their finding are now unprovable. In the scientific community that means it is garbage. We must now start over.

NASA STILL hasn't produced their data. WHY? In science when a government body has data and a university or other researcher requests it they are sent a copy almost immediately. NASA is a public entity. Why are they so hesitant to give over the data.

BTW, I have had this position for YEARS even when Bush was POTUS. It has ZERO to do with Obama.
