NBC's Andrea Mitchell: Trust Obama, He's Going to Bomb Syria 'From A Very Cautious Anti-War Perspective'

The liberals are just on a different moral plain form the rest of us, dont you know. Those about to be killed by American missiles may be comforted to know that the orders were given cautiously from an anti-war perspective...does this count , too, for hundreds of terrorist suspects and their families in foreign countries vaporized from a "cautious antiwar perspective" since 2009?

On her Friday MSNBC program, Obama flack and leftist hack Andrea Mitchell tried to ease the concerns of Democratic Congresswoman Barbara Lee and other members of Congress calling for a congressional vote on military action in Syria: "Barack Obama, as you know better than I do, was one of the leading Democratic politicians against the Iraq War. So if he says that this is different, that the evidence is there....does that persuade you since he has always come at this from a very cautious  anti-war perspective?

Barack Obama, as you know better than I do, was one of the leading Democratic politicians against the Iraq War

Apparently, Saddam killing thousands of his own people with chemical weapons was no where near as bad as Assad killing hundreds of his own people with chemical weapons. Did I get that right?

Who are these mysterious "neo-cons" that airborne always cites?

“In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including Al Qaeda members, though there is apparently no evidence of his involvement in the terrible events of September 11, 2001. It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons. Should he succeed in that endeavor, he could alter the political and security landscape of the Middle East, which as we know all too well affects American security.” — Hillary Clinton, October 10, 2002

I wonder if the neo cons are going to hold out for doing away with Obamacare in exchange for their vote to authorize military intervention in Syria

It's sad that ACC is so afraid to talk about the hypocrisy of Obama, Kerry, and H. Clinton that he has to go back 30 years to rehash some old lies about the Reagan administration.

    Sad and pitiful.

While the neokkkons want another war, it is good to see that conservatives such as WND and Breitbart have reported that it is not Assad but al-Nusra terrorists who used sarin gas on those innocents in Syria.

It's sad that someone, who purports to believe in independent thinking, cannot admit to the reality of history confirmed by facts found by a Senate Select Committee and needs to keep their head buried in a physically uncomfortable position so as to remian ideologically ignorant.

It's particularly pathetic that the same political hack has, for the sake of a political argument, developed a calculus of human life in order to try and downplay atrocities according to the politics of who happens to occupy what office in the US, nevermind the timeliness aspect of the situation.

But the most hilarious, and saddest, attempt at making a point is that stklbutler is the one who reached back into history for a comparison and when that comparison reveals the unscrupulous duplicity of the wingnut foreign policy, he starts to cry about going "back 30 years" to make a point ... the same 30yr reflection that he introduced into the argument.

Now that's just plain petulant and immature.

For SB, "think for yourself" means "invent your own alternate reality".

    Hilarious!!!

    [/QUOTE]

We don't have to go back 30 years to discover the American Administration assisting kook islamic extremists in the use of chemical weapons. Our President today and thos before him support the terrorist led government of Palestinian terrortories

Our insane policy today also  includes support of  elements of the Al Qaeda network in their war against Assad. These are very same elements that have been discovered making chemical weapons in Iraq. Ask yourself who had something to gain with that Sarin attack? Assad inviting the wrath of the US and NATO or Al Nusrah/Al Qaeda getting to enter the war on their side?

This is just more stupidity from Obama. But is he stupid or is he following his inclination as a liberal to tear us down and strip us of any influence in the Middle East?

Re: NBC's Andrea Mitchell: Trust Obama, He's Going to Bomb Syria 'From A Very Cautious Anti-War Perspective'

    Lets try logic.

We have the US and co. stating that Assad's forces used chemical weapons but, they cant really prove it because he bombed the area after the chemical use to destroy the evidence.

We have Russia and co. that say there is no evidence the syrian govt used chemical weapons and that it could have been the rebels since they were caught with a serin gas cannister 2 weeks ago along the Turkish border. Turkey has yet to release this evidence.

    To me that's a stalemate!

    Logic!

Who had the most to gain/lose by the use of chemical weapons?

By every account Assad's forces are advancing in the war and have the upper hand so, for them to use chemical weapons while (winning) seems idiotic since it will likely be met with an attack on them by the US to shift the balance of the war.

The rebels on the other hand are being driven back and losing ground in the war; they are less trained and less equipped than the regimes forces so, they would welcome an attack by the US on Assads military to try and regain momentum.

Could it have been a false flag attack?

If, so did the US know or do we know now?

I do not think we know; I do think we could be getting played by the rebels who are made up of a lot of foreign fighters who has little connection to the Syrian people that were gassed.
