Disgusting neo-con hack (former McCain campaign advisor and current Palin advisor) Michael Goldfarb tweeted yesterday:

So, execution without trial seems to be popular in certain neo-conservative circles. It's bad enough that this guy was tortured and evidence was effectively destroyed that could have been used to convict him on the other 280 counts, but the extremist right-wing wants to forego the rule of law and not even allow a trial or even military commission (which hand out lighter sentences than civilian courts and still would have thrown out the evidence obtained via torture).
This is the mindset that pretty much turned the Bush/Cheney administration into the equivalent of a banana republic. And they wonder why their failed policies were such an effective recruiting tool for terrorist factions....
