Newsweek makes it official: Obama’s inauguration is ‘The Second Coming’

Last week, Newsweek’s digital cover asked a question:

    null

This week they let everyone know that the answer to that question was “not yet”:

    null

Although literally dozens of worshipful covers by the leftist Obama worshippers came in print version, as to this digital verision ...Can you believe it? No halo? The author of the article, Evan Thomas, who once called Obama “sort of God,” may have strong words for the mag’s graphics department for the egregious oversight.

The publication still has faith… mostly that this kind of thing can bring in extra traffic.

Newsweek’s 2005 “inaugural issue” at the start of George W. Bush’s second term was decidedly less cultish, but at least they were still in print back then.

Not to bring anybody down from Newsweek’s ecclesiastical inaugural high, but the Administration's Press , er, Associated Press,  has some disturbing news for the faithful that could shatter a few belief systems:

"Scientifically, the president doesn’t have control of day-to-day weather. While his policies can lessen or worsen future projected global warming on a large scale, they cannot do anything about Washington’s daily temperature on Jan. 21."

    Where’s your messiah now, Newsweek?

Yes, purposefully replacing organized religion with a cult of personality. That should work out well.

Well, it worked out well for the Germans, for a while.

But, look, what do you expect?  the left refuses to acknowledge God, which leaves a big hole in their lives, which they fill with Obama.  Not trying to dis them, that's just what they are doing.

1-2% growth, excessive regulation, buckets of uncertainty, rising cap gains taxes, I would take my profits out as well.  Why keep them in assets that the government is out to destroy or tax excessively?

Companies re-invest profits when it is economical to do so.  When it is not, they declare large dividends and get them out of the company.

Simple, really, if you understood economics.

OK.  The tithes and offerings being forced upon us by dear leader should be a concern for the middle class, who is getting hammered, hammered I tell you, by the very people who say they are not doing it.

I've got to wonder what kind of pathetically obsessed person trolls all the publications he hates the most just to b!tch about libruls.

Jebus, can't any of you libruls stay on topic? What is it, some kind of pervasive librul ADD?

I would wager that most people are in fact agnostic, but simply lack the public bravery to think it through and admit it to themselves and others.

Remember, the vast majority of religious people had religion burned into their brains as defenseless children under the undue influence of parents, grandparents and extended family. The case for the legitimacy of religion is heavily tainted as it most closely resembles cultism more than realism.  It simply fails the logic test.

Well, an interesting question. As far as a vast majority having religion burned into their heads, probably just not so, though I hear that a lot from catholics in the Boston area.  it is as if a bad explanation of faith taints the rest of us who have the idea straight.   Maybe you are reflecting some problems of your own dealing with religion.  If so, that's not good. Faith is meant to be helpful.

As far as what people are, based on a Pew poll 78% or so identify themselves as christian.  It is an open question as to how many are christain as result of "undue influence" vs. coming to realize that jesus saves.  Or, how many are really agnostic.
