    Now that the birthers have been discredited and exposed as the morons we always knew they were, I await the next generation of wild conspiracy theories no doubt being cooked up and assembled by the wingnut media outlets now.

    Will the wingnuts ever let us get to the business of America and finally ShutTFU?

    Or will they eventually turn on their mouthpiece and ask Trump for the birth certificate of that thing living on his head?

    Glad the side show is over.....

    now we can talk to the issues; never ending main street recession, continued housing value drop, rising energy prices threatening a double dip, HCR, the never ending wars (now up to 3) and Gitmo is still open.

    HE obviously has a problem with transparency.

    The answer is probably that all along the Obama administration couldn't believe even in their wildest dreams (especially with all the cr@p going on in the world) that something like this would even become an issue that had to be dealt with.

    He overestimated the intelligence of a whole voting block of blowhards. Im sure he's sitting at his desk just shaking his head and rolling his eyes wondering if he has been transported to some alternate dumbed down America.

    If it was this simple to release his long form why did the president let it fester and create such a distraction; ...oh that's right it created a distraction and fostered the derisive and divisive meme that it was driving by racism becuase we know that no one could honestly just disagree with President Obama's agenda and policies.

    The document copy was dated April 25, 2011 did it take 3 years to get it or was it just advantageous to the campaign to play this short form - long form game.

    Please.  Stop pretending that the birthers' motivations were anything but racist, OR that it was even a legitimate line of inquiry.  Unless you're arguing somehow that his BC has anything to do with his "agenda and policies"...

    This is what I'm talking about re: honest debate...you can't have one based on a false predicate.

    He didn't "let" anything "fester", and the "distraction" was not of his doing.  He ignored some idiots on the right-wing fringe because they were dead wrong until he couldn't ignore them any longer and fought back with the best weapon there is: the truth.  Sticks and stones....

    To all who birthed or euphemized by "asking questions" or "wondering":  Take responsibility for your own actions, admit your error, and move on.

    It's for your own good. The more you push "Why did he make me birth," the less chances your Republican candidates will have in 2012.

    I've already tried to explain the first part of your post, not sure if that got through or not. Concerning the long form/short form game, as you put it, that was created by the birthers. As Obama said himself, his cert had been viewed, documented, posted on the internet and analyzed since the begining. The birther morons just refused to believe it. They got caught up in their own lunacy and started believing their own rhetoric.

    Wasn't it Karl "achtung" Rove who said, if you say it enough times, they start to belive it and it eventually becomes fact.

    Massmoderatejoe - anytime someone disagrees with a minority it's racism silly. When will you get this through your head. Allow me to give you a little cheat sheet as to how it all works...
    Disagree with a black person = racist
    Disagree with a woman = sexist
    Disagree with a homosexual = homophobe

    That being said I hope this ridiculous birther issue will finally go away. Although judging by the amount of threads started today I'm not sure it's going away anytime soon....

    Well it was the Clinton campaign that first alluded to citizenship issues with candidate Obama; was the Clinton campaign racist?  I guess anyone not supporting Obama and his policies is considered racist and that is a sad commentary on race in the US, ...and yes some of the more strident birthers were racist, but most just liked a good conspiracy theorey.

    Everyone dose something for a reason.........Obama let it fester when he could have killed it three years ago, because his team saw a benefit which evaporated.  Why did the festering issue evaporate, well maybe the good thing for the GOP was that Trump looked so foolish that everyone of consequence was distancing themselves from the birth certificate issue.

    All true, but why didn't the president just provide the long form to end the issue 3 years ago, the answer was that there was a benefit to fostering the rediculous birther movement and some of the more ardent birthers were most likely racist, but most just like a good conspiracy theorey.  I still don't believe the JFK magic bullet theory.
