Investigators probing the deadly Boston Marathon bombings are circulating photos of two men spotted chatting near the packed finish line, The Post has learned.

In the photos being distributed by law-enforcement officials among themselves, one of the men is carrying a blue duffel bag. The other is wearing a black backpack in the first photo, taken at 10:53 a.m., but it is not visible in the second, taken at 12:30 p.m.

“The attached photos are being circulated in an attempt to identify the individuals highlighted therein,” said an e-mail obtained by The Post. “Feel free to pass this around to any of your fellow agents elsewhere.”

CBS correspondent John Miller said Thursday morning that purported pictures of alleged suspects in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings floating around "the Internet and the papers" are not the same ones that will be eventually released by authorities.

Miller, a former FBI assistant director, said the FBI has been "shaken" by the amount of information that continues to leak in the case. One photo made its way to the cover of the New York Post on Thursday.

According to a transcript from CBS, anchor Gayle King asked Miller if the photos in "the papers and the Internet" should be discounted.

"Those are not the pictures that are going to be released today by the authorities," Miller said.

    [QUOTE]

Leaked? wouldnt that be indicative of something they have but, were not ready to release?

My apologies if, untrue and the NY Post should be ashamed and ostricized!

You're lying. The FBI hasn't released any photos to any news agency.

How would you describe the photos?

So, what do we make of this statement?  That there are more pictures of the same men, or new prictures of different men?

The NYPost also reported there were 12 fatalities on Monday...

...they still have not printed a retraction.

Today, they're committing libel on two innocent runners who happen to be dark-skinned.

    Journalistic self-sodomy.

How do you know it's those two men? Because you saw it on the internet?

Just because it's posted somewhere doesn't make it true.

I'll wait for the FBI to disseminate the information, thanks.

But if you want to believe a source that has been so wrong in almost every aspect of this story then tha's your perogative but don't insist it must be true just because you believe it.

Did I say it was those two men? No.  I was commenting on the ambiguity off the official statement.

Maybe so. But you don't have proof they aren't. I don't know, and you don't know.
