A lot of moving parts, behind him as well as in front of him.

Plan B should have passed.  The GOP 2010 Tea Party Conservatives are showing their irrelevance.  They may be able to stop a limited compromise to feel pure but the next vote will cement their fate as not being part of the solution.

    Warning:

Plan B is not effective in terminating tax denial.

Do not use Plan B if you are already in tax denial because it will not work.

Plan B does not protect against Benghazi Derangement Syndrome and other wingnut transmitted theories.

Side effects may include delusions, paranoia, lower abdominal pain, fatigue, bloviation, and poor math skills.

If Plan B fails to generate sufficient revenues, we could have told you so.

You should not take Plan B if you are trying to balance a budget or learn math.

Plan B should not be used as a budget balancer, as it is not effective. If you have severe tax denial lasting more than 4 hours, you may be suffering from the effects of the Laffer Curve and should seek immediate medical help.

Plan B just prevents 99% of that tax payers taxes to go up, increase in taxes bad for recession recovery.

It does nothing to deal with the debt.  On the surface it adds to debt unless there is growth and more income to tax at existing rates ...meaning more revenue.

Has anyone here heard the numbers?  In the present case, is the majority (tea party) of the majority still a majority of the larger body (the House)?

Got to believe that the numbers matter very much to Speaker Boehner, on two levels: 1) the deal  2) his position.

So ironic that the person he depends on most for his credibility and his job is the president.

Looks like they didn't get a crack at it.

Are you saying that your tea party told the speaker they wouldn't vote for it because the president would never sign it?

Call them what you will - Norquist followers, tea partiers, molting secessionists, or mere sympathizers - are they the majority of the House?  And did they tell the speaker that they wouldn't vote for it because the president would never sign it?

There is plenty of blame to go around both parties on this one and neither party can fix this problem on their own. It will take both parties to fix and both parties to let it fall.

     IMHO, either way we're screwed.
