Price of Gas is back up

But, no worries.  It's part of the plan to save the planet, or something.

Well, at least we had lower gas prices dureing the election.

Expected to reach record high in April.  Just wait for the Obama Admin descision on Keystone XL pipeline; a no vote will spike the price higher quicker.

"Obama has nothing to do with gas prices"   Bush does though.  It`s Bush`s fault.

Besides, if you take the 1.82/gallon that Obama inherited, divide by the unemployment rate he inherited, multiply that by the percentage the DOW has risen, split out tax cuts, the 2 wars, and subtract by the effects of global warming.............Obama inherited today`s 3.70/gallon price.

    It`s Bush`s fault.

Funny how the wingnuts are just too dang ignorant to take their own advice.

Then, gas prices were beyond the PotUS's control and 'libruls' don't understand global commodities.

Apparently there's been a shift in macro-economic thinking in the last few years because the wingnuts are now using the argument they once attacked.

It's hilarious to watch the spineless wingnuts flip/flop like hapless mackrel.

    Hahahaha....WHOOSH....

Why am I not surprised that you don't see that YOUR argument is being thrown in your face. Conservatives know full well the president has nothing to do with it. We're MOCKING you guys now. See how that works. YOU guys are the ones who argued it was Bush's fault. So now we're calling you on it. We're asking you...hey...if it was Bush's fault then shouldn't it be Obama's fault. We're getting you guys to admit you had your heads up your a55es back then. BWAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Do you have proof that anyone here blamed Bush for gas prices?

US Gas Prices, Oil Price & the Real Story Take the Drill-Baby-Drill Challenge: Can You Guess Right?

    active-drilling-quiz.png

March 25, 2012. You know the story. When Obama took office:

    • Gasoline cost $1.95/gallon and oil, $45

    But now (3/2/12)

    • Gasoline costs $3.72/gallon and oil, $125

Incredible. And we understand - because our politicians explained it to us, like so ...

    1. We should've drilled.
    2. But Obama and his EPA stopped us.
    3. So the supply of oil went down.

And, that pushes the price up, and high oil prices cause high gas prices. If we had drilled, supply would be up and the price would be down. Maybe down to $1.00/gal like under Clinton (March 1999).

    Free. Many Varieties

So I dare you to guess which Obama scenario on the graph above is correct. Don't cheat. Guess before you click to see the answer. Don't believe it?  See for yourself where the data comes from.

    Shocking but true:

    1. We did "drill baby drill" - like never before.
    2. Obama didn't stop us.
      • Just ask the upset Sierra Club.
    3. The US supply of oil went up the most since 1970.

Under Obama, drilling has skyrocketed as never before, and the price of gas went from $1.95 to $3.95 (April 1, 2012).  There's a reason.

    http://zfacts.com/sites/all/files/image/energy/active-oil-drilling-rigs.png

Obama has an all of the above policy only because it happened inspite of him.  Virtually all of the new drilling is on private lands or lands already under lease prior to Obama's first term.  CNN and NPR both came out and said not true after SOTU that Obama's policies are why drilling is up.  New leases and drilling on public land is actually down under Obama.

He's also getting ready to drive the cost of North American oil deilivery higher when he delays or disapproves Keystone XL.

Re: Price of Gas is back up

I proudly blame Bush for gas prices.

The average annual price of gas in 2000 was $1.49.  In 2008 it was $3.26.  In 2012 it was $3.61.

So gas went up 118% in eight years under Bush, and 10% in four years under Obama.

BTW, anybody who thinks drilling and pipelines will bring down the price of gas - don't you have to wonder why gas prices dropped so sharply when the market crashed?  There was no change in supply or demand.  The price of eggs didn't plummet.  The price of milk didn't plummet.  Just gas.

    Here`s the facts dummy:

    Jan 20, 2009     1.82 gallon

    Feb 18, 2013     3.77 gallon

Wake up and smell the gas fumes.

800,000 jobs lost in a month is a lot, but it's a far cry from half the work force.  And it's not like everybody stops driving if they lose their job.

Gas prices were cut in half when the stock market crashed - there was no real change in consumption.
