Sadly, Mr. Romney was not at the helm to prevent this by "paying attention" at Putin.

Romney warned us that Russia was our number 1 foe.  This meaningless peninsula (whose residents identify themselves as Russians) would have never been taken on his watch.

Palin was prescient, she predicted that Ukraine would have a popular uprising forcing the country towards Europe and Russia would move it's troops out of it's largest naval base they have in the world in response to the westward shift in attitudes.

It happened exactly like she predicted ... and she was only off by this much

    < ...................................................................................................................>

Despite the fact that she made the prediction in the midst of Russia annexing parts of Georgia with military force and against Georgia's will.

Did you guys all get the same White house talking points?

Last I checked, the reality your are ignoring is OBAMA is the President, and your vote for him is looking increasingly foolish.

Romney's front lawn was taken over by a bunch of illegals whose income was paid for by Mitt.  So spare me on what Mitt may have done.

What was looking foolish before Obama was elected were stock portfolios.  The stock market is looking better and unemployment is in the right direction.

Economic sanctions work well against Russia.  Even when they spent years in Afghanistan, their economy took a hit.

Bin Laden is dead and most Americans don't want to engage in another war.

Hey, at least Romney recognized Russia being our greatest geopolitical threat years before, and what did Obama do when brought up during one of the debates, he condescendingly laughed it off, basicly telling Romney he had no idea where our real threats lie.

    Yes, Obama's stimulus worked wonders <sarcasm off>.
Most Americans think we still are in recession, because the pathetic 5 year Obama economic 'non-recovery', is #1, the worst recovery from a recession ever.

Record numbers now dependent on Government programs, which liberals consider success ....record number NOT working...the only sector that is thriving is the public sector....

Ok, so you don't think that our real threats are the people who are responsible for 911?  The same people who are now calling for suicide bombers to attack American cities?  Romney's type of talk was auditioing and if he were President, he would be giving the game generic statements as Obama is doing now.

Exactly what is the national security interest the US has in Crimea?

And where was all this hyperventilating when Russia annexed 2 region in Georgia by force in 2008?

The people who like to bash Obama on a hourly basis forget about Gerogia and complain about everything obama does.  Graham calls obama a dictator one month and weak the next.

Crimea? Not a whole lot. But you have to admitt we cannot sit back and ignor Russia as they invade and take over surrounding countries.

then lay out your plan. I see a lot of people attacking Obama but no one says what they would do. If you want boots on the ground then say it.  If not then there is not much more to be done than what Obama is doing.

All Politicians change their tone once elected.  If they don't then they usually end up invading the worng country costing 5,000  lives and a trillion dollars which we have to borrow from china to pay for.

    Re: Putin mocks Obama

Ah...so because there was no violence involved all is good. Sorry, but anytime "storming" is involved that's not a good thing. When a compound is "stormed", gates are cut open and the commander of the Ukranian navy is driven out by Russian special forces, that isn't a "shakeout of local politics".

If this isn't a big deal, as some on here seem to be saying, then why comments like these:

"As long as Russia continues on this dark path, they will face increasing political and economic isolation," said U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, referring to reports of armed attacks against Ukrainian military personnel in Crimea.

"There is an attempt, using brutal force, to redraw borders of the European states and to destroy the post-war architecture of Europe," Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite said.

Biden said in Warsaw on Tuesday the United States may run more ground and naval military exercises to help Baltic states near Russia beef up their capacity after what he called Putin's "land grab" in Ukraine.

If this is no big deal then why are we involved at all? Why doesn't our government stay out of it completely?
