Maybe if they spent more time upfront writing this god awful bill, it wouldn't be in such a need of a major over hal and a call for de-funding. But the 2010 elections were coming fast, and there was no time to waste. Right Nancy???

What's so "god awful" about it?

Millions of americans are covered now where they were denied previously.

Repubs are calling for de-funding because they want to deny health care to people they feel don't deserve it.  Their fiscal excuses are mostly red herrings.

Over a year was spent debating the ACA...on top of public debates which had occurred for decades prior that warned - explicitly - about the rising costs of health care.  Politicians on both sides punted for way too long.  Now, it's time to pay the piper one way or another.
This is just partisan bullbleep. Republicans want to deny people healthcare? Are you braindead or what??

You have no credibility to speak about this topic if you think that is the case. Of course itis just an internet newsboard so who has any credibility anyway?

and here we were just talking about people making things up! That's awesome!

unlike your constant prattling about how people are denied healthcare. No one, NO ONE in this country was denied access to health care before Obamcare.

Obamacare is likely to make that red herring from the left true.

Obviously you don't know the difference between healthcare and urgent medical care.

    Words have meaning.
Clearly, you think cobbling together a few choice words makes your point. But, clearly, words have meaning, which you ignore.

Tell me how anyone was denied access to healthcare prior to Obamacare.

Yo won't be able to, because, prior to Obamacare, everyone had access to healthcare.  No one had absolute right to any treatment possible, either before, or after the implementation of Obamacare.

How do I know this?  Because:

    a) I read the bill, and

    b) I know the meaning of the words I use.

nobody needs to attack Obamacare....it's doing a great job all by itself as a disaster....when the unions are protesting a dem idea that THEY supported, you know its not good....

Tell that to the people who now have insurance who were denied earlier.

The law is working and will continue to do so as it's phased in.

The law is working...liberals made no secret that the purpose of ObamaCare was to destroy the private sector health care industry, leading inevitably to single payer Government health care..the more of a train wreck ObamaCare is, the sooner the "crisis" would result in a Government takeover.

    So ObamaCare is working!
Destroy private sector health insurance..??? You must be joking. "Obamacare" does the exact opposite...thus the reason why many on the far left oppose it as well.
MsCricket:  you can't be serious.

Obamacare puts the government in control ofthe essential elements of the healthcare transaction:

    It makes you buy it.

It determines what the coverage will be.

It collects all the data within the system.

The only thing "private" insurance does is cash checks.

So, in my view, it is the worst possible solution.  I prefer a free-market health care insurance market, but, though it pains me, socialised medicine is a better option than this joke.

It just shows how out of touch progressives are to cook up such a mess, assuming that they really intended for this to work.

You can't possibly have any interactions on the business side of a hospital or some other healthcare organization.

Even before Obamacare, the government dominated the industry with regulations. They owned a huge piece of it all too with VA, Medicare and Medicaid.

The government controls the billing codes. The government tells them they have to treat people in the emergency room even if they have nn medical emergency and no money to pay for treatment.

That's just the tip of the iceberg. And we haven't even started talking Obamacare.

You are right. Thanks for reminding us of this perspective.

Health care and healthcare insurance was somewhat broken before Obamacare, largely due to government regulation and interference.

So, what is the progressive response to this problem of too much government in healthcare? More government.

What the progressives are telling us is that it is our inability to mold ourselves to their worldview that is the problem, and therefore need to be restricted further, not their 50 year long march of regulation and control over healthcare.
