My impression that he was a racist derives not from anything in this thread - particularly seeing as some of it is apparently misinformation - but rather from the totality of his remarks on various racially tingedNot that it matters much. He plays a big fat idiot on radio and who knows, perhaps he's also one in real life. What scares me is what his following might think of all his deranged rants....
However, I just don't think the absence of prejudice can be erased by "hey, I employed someone of that race."

I know the story is false...
...but I find it kind of funny that anyone, anywhere feels the need to defend Limbaugh of anything, given that his expressed stated goal is one of radio raconteur...to gin up controversy where none exists and maintain his listenership on behalf of his sponsors.
I admit that I once regarded him as an acknowledged leader of movement conservatism, but no more...he's far too buffoonish and obvious. Like Ms. Bachmann, he just can't be taken seriously. At this point, both attacking and defending Rush have jumped the shark, and I include the WH in that respect.
