Yah, the wicked smart left and press don't even seem to notice that it is up to Obama to decide what gets cut.  Obama is proving to be a real nation destroyer by s demanding cuts be in the most destructive form possible.  That's not leadership, that being a tyrant.

Garbage.  The GOP is trying to punt as a way of avoiding some portion of the blame once the public goes ape once the cuts kick in.  Reid is right to force them to stay on the field.  Deciding how the cuts should be divided up is Congress' job and for conservatives to try to give that power to Obama demonstrates how their values are become squishy when its convienent.

You need to read the law, or just listen to the news. The executive branch, I.e. Obama controls what gets cut. The legislation, Obama's idea, btw, only keeps it away from entitlements. That's the way the law was written. What gets cut is in Obama'wheelhouse, for better or worse.

it is Obama saying he will cut the border patrol, air safety, release dangerous illegals, and so on.

even you have to admit that this is true.

The left (obama) is the one saying we will have to cut, police and firemen and teachers while not saying anything about cutting NPR or foreign aid.

You cannot have it both ways.

If Obama is running around saying they are cutting the wrong things (not real cuts, we'll still spend more) but, is unwilling to say what cuts he will make; that is NOT leadership that is just slimey politics!

Sequester was borne out of the gridlock in both houses of congress.  The GOP eagerly accepted Obama's idea and voted "yes" (they said yes to something?!?!?) and then started trying to get out of it last year under the guise of protecting military spending.  Well it didn't go away and as the due date looms they have, instead of getting to work, launched a PR offensive to try and pin the blame on the admin in some circles, claim the sequester is no big deal and Obama is fearmongering, and act like their entire house caucus didn't vote for the sequester in the first place.  Obama for his part is doing his level best in his own PR efforts to take his message to the public.  Regardless, this may be the one example of Bipartisianship in the Obama admins time in office that he will regret.

The GOP tactic has been to take the economy hostage to force their agenda in a game of chicken.  The sequester was essentially Obama saying he would shoot the hostage in the leg first before the GOP could even hold a gun to the hostages head.  Why the GOP is whining about this is beyond me, the sequester is a gift.  They don't have to dirty their hands with anymore hostage funny business and they get the spending cuts they have been bleating about for 5 years.
