Only dems. I do think the best quirp in the debate was when Ryan referred to Jack Kennedy's tax cuts and Biden mumbled "Oh, so now your Jack Kennedy"!

The Obama administration requested $1.801 billion for embassy security, construction and maintenance for the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30, according to The Hill newspaper. And House Republicans came back with a proposal to cut spending to $1.425 billion. Ultimately, the Republican-controlled House agreed to increase funding to $1.537 billion after negotiations with the Senate.

It doesn't matter who controls the House when the minority party out votes the majority on passage.

It doesn't matter who proposed the spending cuts?  Wouldn't a no vote have been a 1.8 billion dollar spending cut?

    In response to GreginMeffa's comment:

House Democrats opened Wednesday’s House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform hearing by attacking Republicans for cuts to embassy security funding— cuts that only happened thanks to overwhelming support from House Democrats, including House Oversight Committee Ranking Democratic member Rep. Elijah Cummings.

In fact, more House Democrats – 149 of them — voted for the cuts than did House Republicans, of which 147 voted for them.

Thats a dishonest assessment.  As noted above the admin asked for 1.8 billion in funding.  The GOP countered with 1.4 and eventually negotiations netted a slight increase to 1.5 which the Dems then voted for.  But lets be clear, the dems DID NOT vote to decrease the amount the admin asked for, they voted on the best they could get as determined by the House republicans.

Back to the debate, when Vice President Biden very directly said, "Your budget," wasn't he talking about the Ryan budget?

The point is Democrats are making it a point, and look stupid.  The guy pointing the finger is one of the 149 that voted for it.

What chamber is Vice President Biden in - ever - as relates to this?

I would imagine yes, but there's already a few debate threads going on.  Biden didn't blame anyone for embassy cuts.  I like Biden, always have.

OK, just as to this one, and both of my last two comments are about it.

You can't possibly believe this?  The republicans proposed the 330 million in spending cuts.  No Republicans, no cuts.

its nice how the dems can have so much influence in the House when they are the minority party.

149 Dems and 147 Reps voting to cut embassy spending would be better than either.

Still, this is a non-point. This is no more congresses' fault than it was Obama's fault for not foreseeing that this particular embassy would be attacked in that particular way on 9/11/12, when it ( and others ) were left alone on all the other 9/11 anniversaries.

Libya is the big distractor the Republicans are trying to gin up.

    Republicans are drumming this up?

I think some terrorists drummed this up.  Pretty sure about that.

And Obama didn't respond, and four americans died, needlessley.  Pretty sure about that, too.

Can you imagine, they had streaming video of the attack, LIVE, and the Obama administration still didn't respond.  That was his 3:00 A.M. call, and he showed his real stuff.  Empty chair.

You can't seriously be blaming the republicans for being fiscally responsible?

No cuts, no future for this country.

Besides, assets were in the area, they were not used, purposely, obvisouly. The thing we need to find out is why.  WHY did the Obama administration let these four americans die?

I disagree with you, but I can follow your logic.  The cuts were the fiscally responsible path, and should not be blamed for the tragedy.  But if you do blame the cuts for the tragedy (like the OP), how in the heck to you pin it on the Dems?

The lax security in Benghazi had nothing to do with funding.

You are making a fool out of yourself.
