Soran University held the First Annual Oil & Gas Symposium

On Monday 21 April 2014 with the attendance of Soran University president, Dr. Muslih Mustaf and many local and international academicians as well as experts of oil and gas, Soran University held its first annual symposium on oil and gas. The symposium was under the title "Kurdistan’s Oil and Gas: Curse or Blessing?” The symposium took two days and during this period, many international and local experts delivered their researches.
A formal meeting between Soran and Cambridge Universities

Friday 18/7/2014 on the Cambridge University’s call, a delegation from Soran University visited Cambridge University. The delegation included; Dr. Nahro Zagros, Dr. Said Shams and Dr. Tyler Fisher. The delegation held the first formal meeting of Soran University with Cambridge University.
“The meeting concluded with many significant decisions for doing mutual academic projects between the two Universities’’ Dr. Nahro said about the meeting.
The meeting had the presence of Dr. Nazand Bagikhani, KRG Prime Minister’s Advisor for Gender affairs and Bayan Sami AbdulRahamn, KRG Representative in UK.
British General Consul Visits Soran University

On Wednesday (10/6/2014), British General Consul in Erbil visited Soran University and was warmly welcomed by the president and members of the senior management of Soran University.
In this meeting, the president of Soran University expressed his happiness for this visit and hoped for a continuing relationship. Then they all visited Soran University's new campus and the Pearson Centre.
In an exclusive interview, the British Consul expressed his happiness for this visit and meeting Dr. Muslih and other members of the senior management.
Leicester University Pro VC Speech at Soran

Martin Halliwell: signing these contracts is an important development in academic relationships between Soran University and Leicester University.
"Professor Martin Halliwell" in the ceremony of signing a scientific contractwith Soran University, in his capacity of pro vice chancellor of Leicester University, delivered a speech.
At the beginning of his speech Dr Halliwell declared that this contract is an important development in academic relationships between Soran University and Leicester University. Later on he mentioned the importance of HCDP (Human Capacity Development Program). He also revealed that Leicester University currently has 100 Kurdish students, and when they return to Kurdistan they will have a significant role in higher education development and academic affairs.
