Re: 'Sour grapes' GOP plans to change electoral college 'winner take all' system should die a quick death

In poor white West Virginia, Obama got 62% of those making less than $30.000 but just 39% of those making more than $100.000. In other words, those WV Appalachian "Rednecks"in the biblebelt south that the media loves to demonize and portray as Republicans on closer observation turn out to vote Democrat. I could go on, the pattern is the same across all Red States.

This paradox that poor states vote Republican while poor Americans vote Democrat may be too subtle to understand for angryman..

And Obama won 8-of-10 richest counties in the country.

    Your point?

Hey spanky, the wingnut states are the poor states and the poor states are the 'takers', there's no two ways about it.

They have the highest percentage of non-income tax payers, the 47% Mittens referred to, and they get more in federal money than they pay in fed taxes.

    Those are undeniable facts.

So if you want to have a discussion then you have to start at reality, not some whacko wingnut delusional idea of what reality is.

Betcha most of those 8 richest counties that Obama won are chock-full of government workers.

What`s "pathetic" is, the "majority of voters" are scum bag, welfare-ites with EBT cards, food stamps, and obamaphones.  They`re dumb as posts, living in their mama`s basement, voting for the guy that gives them more free stuff.  They think JayZ and Beyonce are brilliant, and they get their news from Saturday Night Live and Comedy Central.  Kinda` like.......well, you, (except I`m guessing most of them don`t have booze, pot, and prescription drug addictions)

Aka the great unwashed.  He wouldn't have let them vote.

Unless they were hired in the past 4 years, they were didn't have much to fear from a Republican administration.  And unless they were PBS employees, they didn't really have anything to fear from Romney.

There are poor urban minority "takers" and there are poor rural white "takers".  Obama won the former and Romney the latter - the same party split we've seen in every presidential election since '64.

For the rest of the country, Obama promised same or higher tax rates, and slow but steady growth.  Romney promised lower tax rates for everyone, while increasing military spending and a skyrocketing (4%) growth in GDP.  Romney was the one promising "free stuff".

Back in the day, this voting by the great unwashed - this most pernicious of their entitlements - would have been "seen to".

By the way, what became of the voter ID campaign that some back country pols were running on?  It seems to have disappeared on election day - until the next election?

I think you're mis-reading these results.  Obama did not win a single county in WV, but he came closest in Monongalia County, home of WVU, and the most populated county of Kanawha.  Youth and urban centers have always been strengths for Dems.

If you're tring to prove that poor white people voted for Obama because of the promise of free stuff, take a look at Alabama.  Alabama has only one county with a per-capita income over $30K, but the state was never in play.

How does this address the richest countries voting for Obama?

I'll make it easy for you.  7 of the top 10 richest counties surround Washington D.C.

    In other words, government workers.

Republican-leaning states get more in federal dollars than they pay in taxes.

    Mostly True

I think the republican leaning states would be even happier if their Fed taxes were lower and they dealt with financial choices locallly.

Federal dollars spent in these states are primarily farming/ethynol subsidies and military expenditures.

    What the...??!!

Ya, I guess they aren't happy until they pay nothing in fed taxes while suckling on the welfare teat of federal largesse.

My point and you know it, is that the republican leaning states would be happier if there wasn't a large teat of federal largesse.
