The 12 hour filibuster that propelled Texas State Senator Wendy Davis into the national spotlight, and forced Texas Governor Rick Perry to call a special session of the Texas legislature, has either marked Davis as a rising star in the Democrat Party or may be the last hurrah for this woman most of had never heard of until very recently.

Not many people could physically do what she did under the very strict filibuster rules in Texas. She also has an intriguing back story it seems.

So, rising star, last hurrah or ...???

If she was a conservative rising to filibuster late term abortion, Ethernet NYT would make her out to be hitleresque, standing in the way of all we hold dear.
