So you're saying voter ID laws are contributing to voter fraud and dis-enfranchisement in Kenya?
I'm typing slowly so you can understand. The OP is pointing out the hypocrisy of the President promoting a program in another country that his administration agressively fights against in our own country. It's a good idea in Kenya. It's a good idea in the US. That's all.
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.
Key phrase being "another country".
But don't let those pesky facts get in the way of a good old fashioned neo-con pseudo-scandal or something...
Why is the issue different in another country?
Identification is used to verify you are whom you claim to be. Kenya wants to have elections which are honest and scandal free. So it has IDs issued to voters..obviously a step forward.
Yet in the US, the Obama Adminstration doesnt care a whit about potential vote fraud. It is almost like they would desire a voting precinct to have 125% voter turnout, with every single vote of thousands cast for one candidate...
Unbelievable. We need to send $50M to Kenya so more people are allowed to vote, and conservatives see it as a model for the US. To fix a problem that doesn't exist. Let's remember that the next time you're b1tching about an IRS party in Las Vegas or a government study you think is useless.
What's good enough for Kenya is good enough for the U.S.
But, spending 50 mil in Kenya means we need to borrow 50 mil from the chinese, so why don't we just eliminate the middleman and tel lthe chinese to do it.
Or we can not fix what's not broken, and not spend a cent.
