What's the next Dem illegal unconstitutional method for passage of Obamacare?

    1) an executive order ?

    2) signing statement ?

    3) a tweet from Nancy Pelosi ?

    4) close counts in horseshoes and power grabs?
(almost 216 votes in the House, so Dems declare that is "good enough")

Big talk. Wasn't too long ago the Dems failed and were the minority. And guess what....there will be a time when the Dems are in the minority again. Unless of course you don't pay attention to history.

    Imperial Decree.

This bill would sail through Congress if a Republican President had proposed it.  The only difference would be that they would have raised taxes on all health care benefits instead of just the high end plans.

It's a no brainer that you have to mandate coverage to everyone if insurance companies can't deny coverage for a pre-existing condition.  Without the mandate, no one would get health insurance until after they got sick and they would drop it as soon as they got well.

It's the liberals who whould be outraged.

Anybody with more than half a brain knows that single payer is the way to go.

2 people with the same education, same productivity, doing the same job for the same salary, and they have the exact same health care coverage.  They are exactly the same except one works at a small company, the other at a large company.

Who has more take home pay?  The guy at the large company because large companies have much lower insurance premiums than small companies - much lower.

Who costs more to employ?  The guy at the small company because both companies are paying 25% of the health care premium for their employees, and the premium is higher at the small company.  And that has an impact of job creation because most jobs are created by small companies.

While it's good that 30 million people are going to get coverage, the single payer system was the way to go.

You lost on "hannity", but I'll humor you anyway.

People should believe what each other says (or believes) just because their (distantly) related to each other??  There are some people in my family whom I wouldn't trust to fetch a loaf of bread, much less dissect one of the most complex industries and issues we have.

Fortunately for him, Obama has the AMA on his side of the debate.  (Pure speculation: perhaps radiologists are fretting that the unlimited MRI spree might be coming to an end???)

"Obama has the AMA on his side of the debate"

Who cares? Of the 660,000 practicing physicians and surgeons in the United States, a mere 250,000 are members of the AMA. Of that 250,000, nearly 100,000 are medical students
    The
AMA is funded by Big Pharma which  has been bribed into supporting ObamaCare. (Digression: that's why Obama rails against 'insurance companies'  now; drug companies are now wonderful)

    "...
Published in the New England Journal of Medicine, the Medicus Firm recently conducted a survey showing that one third of all practicing physicians will stop practicing medicine if President Obama signs the current "healthcare reform" legislation into law. The inclusion of the public option in the legislation will raise that number to approximately 45 percent.

Echoing the sentiments of several Republicans and Democrats who have rallied against the bill, the physicians claim that the reform will reduce the quality of American medical care.

Kevin Perpetua, managing partner for the Medicus Firm, explains, “Many physicians feel that they cannot continue to practice if patient loads increase while pay decreases.” Perpetua adds that physicians accumulate an average debt of $140,000 in school loans.  Coupled with pay decreases, potential medical students may feel deterred from pursuing a career in medicine. In fact, 36 percent of physicians currently say that they would not recommend the medical profession to others, even without the passage of health care reform. If Obamacare passes, an additional 27 percent affirm that they would not recommend medicine as a career.

This is in direct contrast to what Congressional Democrats have indicated, claiming that an “unprecedented coalition” of doctors are in support of the bill. "

Maybe the Dems are using the same definition of "coalition" employed by the Bush administration?  Maybe it's a coalition of the Willing doctors.

I like how those against the bill say things like, "it'll make things worse", "it'll bankrupt the country", "it a take over of the healtch care system", "it's socialism", without offering up how it'll make things worse or how it's socialism, etc.

    HAAAAAAHAAAAAAHAAAAAA
    Are you serious?
That is not a survey, it's an opinion piece written by a medical recruiting company. That opinion piece was never published in the NEJM and the Journal has disavowed any links to it.

NEJM spokesperson Jennifer Zeis told Media Matters that the study had "nothing to do with the New England Journal of Medicine's original research." She also made clear that the study "was not published by the New England Journal of Medicine," and said that "we are taking steps to clarify the source of the survey."

The "report" that right-wing media are citing actually appeared in Recruiting Physicians Today, which is an employment newsletter produced by "the publishers of the New England Journal of Medicine." According to Zeis, that report actually "was written by the Medicus Firm," the medical recruitment firm that conducted the "survey."

Nice try passing off inaccurate wingnut talking points as something with any value

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you're trying to argue a postion get your facts right.

See this is where ignorance on your part is not bliss. The survey was not taken of just members of AMA but a sample of all physicians in the US.

'In April 2009, we obtained data on a random sample of 6000 physicians from the American Medical Association (AMA) Physician Masterfile, which includes current data on all U.S. physicians.

Overall, a majority of physicians (62.9%) supported public and private options (see Panel A of graph). Only 27.3% supported offering private options only. Respondents — across all demographic subgroups, specialties, practice locations, and practice types — showed majority support (>57.4%) for the inclusion of a public option (see Table 1). Primary care providers were the most likely to support a public option (65.2%); among the other specialty groups, the “other” physicians — those in fields that generally have less regular direct contact with patients, such as radiology, anesthesiology, and nuclear medicine — were the least likely to support a public option, though 57.4% did so. Physicians in every census region showed majority support for a public option, with percentages in favor ranging from 58.9% in the South to 69.7% in the Northeast. Practice owners were less likely than nonowners to support a public option (59.7% vs. 67.1%, P<0.001), but a majority still supported it. Finally, there was also majority support for a public option among AMA members (62.2%).

Here's one.  The SCOTUS has the final word on constitutional interpretation.  Many Dems threw a fit when they granted 'personhood' to corporations.  "You're marginalizing the individual vote!" they whined.  Even Obama criticized their decision!  Now Obamacare will be decided by insurance corp.s - not doctors.

It's not illegal to criticize, but it verges on rudeness and disrespect for the SCOTUS.  Bad, bad Dems !!

Filibuster, meet reconciliation.  Election loser meet election winner.  Majority rules.  Except when you have the media on your side, a corporate media that keeps carping about "bipartisanship", "kinder, gentler", and, the unbelievably reborn "deficits".  That hyperventilates everything the MINORITY says.  So the President outlasts them.  Who?  No, not the republicans; the blue dog democrats.  It's never been about the republicans.  It's been about the blue dog democrats, and the bully pulpit they've given the republicans and the right wing media.  Who?  No, not just Murdoch & Ailes, who have conjured this false dichotomy between themselves and "the mainstream media".  The whole corporate media, which they lead.  Which includes the super-wealthy, super-secretive insurance industry.
