Why Didn't McCain Pull his Ploy Last week????

If McCain was such a good leader and wanted to put country first why didn't McCain pull this BS ploy last week??
He's plummeting in the polls and needs this to save his campaign.
Even republican strategists call this desperation and are questioning the move.

"This is the biggest Hail Mary in the history of football and marys!!"

How can he stand up to terrorists if he can't even stand up to Obama???

Why Didn't McCain Pull his Ploy Last week????

Because in the past 2 days the Congress has proven to be ineffective with the leadership of Pelosi, Reid, etc.. McCain realizes the most influential members of Congress are himself, Biden, and Obama and are needed in this decision making. Its called putting country first.

But but....but CLINTON! Obama is young! But Clinton! Besides, McCain is well known for his strong knowledge of economics, serves on banking and finance committees....Wait, no, sorry, wrong guy.

This is my question--what makes this more of a crisis now--that Congress wants a few days before handing over a blank check to some folks who squandered what they had, or that McCain slipped in the polls and didn't want to face questions about the crisis?

Yeah right its called time to press the desperation button. Bush and the repubs had a plan for the bailout and its a blank check to all their buddies-which will be rejected. The dems have made a logical and passable version. In addition McCain isn't invovled in writing the bill and he isn't needed at all.
The real rumblings and grumblings say that the BIG STORY about how McCain campaign advisor's lobbying firm was taking good money from Freddie M up to 1 MONTH AGO. If this broke it would put an end to him completely.
Additonally it is very possible to do both, focus on the bailout and have a debate/campaign. If he can't handle both he isn't fit to be pres.

What is he going to suspend being president in the face of a crisis???

Why Didn't McCain Pull his Ploy Last week????

Because last week he thought the economy was in fine shape.
I am amazed this guy still has people gullible enough to support him.

Geez.....The topic of the debate tomorrow is Foreign Policy, I highly doubt McCain is ducking Obama on this subject. Obama should be relieved.

The spin is he was talking about the state of the american worker. Ya, right. The worker is in great shape but the work just isn't there.

By the way, are we in a recession YET, or is this still an economic slowdown?

Are there honestly people dense enough to believe the economy wont come up at the debate on Friday?

    Apparently so.

Do any of you have a spine? You've spent the last however many months blabbering about how ineffective a senators Biden and Obama have been- now according to you their presence is absolutely necessary in Washington to get the bailout done?

Despicable the way some of you will just twist anything to suit your argument.

Of course it is a recession, we have one every 4 years like clockwork as at least one party, if not both, claims this election is the most crucial in our lifetimes, and if we don't elect our candidate the sky is going to fall.

We've become a nation of whiners. Did someone else say that recently?

I don't want anything from Washington except keep this country safe. Personal responsibility, local and state government, and private charity is enough.

Seriously. All we are doing is mortgaging the future of our children’s, children – no need to complain or be worried about it.
