Why does the left Live in the Past?

It seems that every argument with the left sooner or later goes to how the conservatives want to go back to Jim Crow, or Bush did it, or some other dash to the past/ignore the present type of argument.  As a result, the argument becomes not what is happening now, but what happened in the past.

Is the left onto something, that our past explains why Obama is unable to fix anything, or is it just a deversion tactic aimed at avoiding discussing the current situation.

    what say you?

Silly boy.  Conservatives by definition live in the past.  You yourself, get much of your philosophical outlook from a book written a couple thousand years ago!  But self awareness is not your forte.

    Conservatism:

    1. The inclination, especially in politics, to maintain the existing or traditional order.

    2. A political philosophy or attitude emphasizing respect for traditional institutions, distrust of government activism, and opposition to sudden change in the established order.

Some people change with the times; They are known as Democrats.

Other people stay fixed in time usually to an imagined halcyon era situated 50 years back through a time tunnel; they are known as Republicans.

The first group naturally thrives with changing demographics; the latter group is utterly threatened and swept away by these changes.

To remain relevant, Republicans need to embrace change and join us in the 21st century.

Your post isn't an issue, its just your opinion, one that is refuted by looking at the politics of today and the priorities for the parties.

We all change with the times but, we should also be consitutionalist and adhere to our constitutional principles!

Funny how the folks that purportedly wants to adhere strictly and unwaveringly to a document forged nearly 250 years ago whine about others "living in the past".

These are the same fruitcakes who think the 2nd amendment somehow had automatic weapons and armor-piercing bullets in mind.

We don't live in the past ..... we deal with the future the right has left us ... i.e the biggest mistake ever in the history of the U.S. of A. .... the Invasion of Iraq 10 years ago !

Insult?  I accurately define who you are and what you believe and you see it as an insult...  Are you offended by yourself?  Self examination is NOT your forte obviously.

Conservatism is not the status quo....progressivism is the status quo. Since the Democratic racist Woodrow Wilson expanded the government and trampled on the Constitution a century ago, the liberal mentailty has not really changed.

Ronald Reagan, 1992: "Fellow Republicans, we are the change!"

It is today's liberals who refuse to change and progress, they want to keep their dinosaur failed social programs, and fat public sector pensions, and expand the Nanny State..the realities of change and progress, new technologies and efficiencies come from the private sector.

The statists of the Left stick to the past..Education reform? Not allowed? Efficient government? Not allowed.

A progressive brain dead view of history as marching endlessly left, further and further left...

    Government expanding and freedom dying...

You know that using, or excluding, a comma can totally change the meaning of a sentence? For example, you posted the question "So what books dont exist in your world?"

To which I'm free to make up the names of books that don't exist. That's easy to do.

    Here's a book that don't exist:

"Successful Government Programs from the Left""
