Re: Your thoughts on the US Senate race

I'm very disappointed in the Democrats of MA.  They have forgotten that the Republican Bush Administration put this country in a Recession and almost Depression by Jan 2009.    Seven Million people unemployed by the end of his term, stock market crash, Banking bailout, 2 Wars, Over 100,000 humans killed because of these wars.   There is no possible way a new President, Obama included, could turn this country around in 1 year.  The People of MA. should be reminded that the unemployed had 3 Extensions, their 401 K are up due to a stronger Stock Market, we still have some banks, we also have the only manufacturing industry saved from bankruptcy, Authomobile.   Obama is trying to create another choice in Health Care for the unemployed and "stop" the Insurance Companies for increasing costs of plans every year and declining coverage for some.  The MA. people just gave the Republicans a shoe in again.  Remember, if the next President is a Republican, than you can look for more unemployment, banking crashes, stock market crashes, more War and more death, no unemployment benefits (find your own way)... They Party of NO, NO WAY, NO FUTURE, will destroy this country again.   Mark my words.

Brat 13 - What a load of crap. The best health care system in the world? Who are you trying to kid? You have no clue about the topic on which you are pontificating! The best healthcare systems in the world are in Sweden and Norway ya clown! The American health Care system is the most expensive in the world and does not serve all of the people! It certainly keeps the pharmaceutical and insurance executives wealthy. As for the war in Iraq, it was completely unnecessary and a waste of money only designed to make Dick Cheney's friends at Haliburton very, very wealthy!   Get a grip pal!

By the way, are you suggesting that the party which gave us huge tax cuts for the wealthy, inctreased health care costs through fat contracts with the durg companies and spent billions on a totally unnecssary war, The REPUBLICANS, are going to somehow pull America out of its malaise.

By the way, thre is NO COMBAT ZONE like theone in Boston in any Canadaian city. That is the result of America's every man for himself thinking!

There is no combat zone in Boston. Been gone for some time now.

First off tax cuts were given to EVERYONE, not just the wealthy. So let's get that straight. Second, increased health care costs are not due to "fat contracts". There are MANY factors that contribute to health care costs. So let's get that straight. The only thing you have correct is the unnecessary war.

Re: Your thoughts on the US Senate race

He ran an excellent race against a candidate who was lackluster at best.  I voted Democratic, in spit of the candidate because it best represents my political philosophy.  Brown got a lot of anger votes, like Obama. Obama one year, Brown the Next, angry voters are very fickled voters.  His success in this state will rest on future accomplishments.  If he is a mouthpiece for tea baggers, I suspect his career will be short lived, if he is a moderate centralist Republican I think he will have a strong chance for re-election in 2012.  The question is, Is he the Plain on the month of someone of substance.  He will be an interesting person to watch.

Re: McGovern was too busy travelling to Cuba to help Coakley...

Coakley got sandbagged by her fellow Democratic congressional delegation. Take Jim McGovern (D. MA 3rd District), who could only convince downtown Worcester, and one other town in his district to vote for her. People know he is part of the out-of-control congress. Foreign trips for everything under the sun.

According to the Legistorm website , Rep. James McGovern took  7  trips to Havana, Cuba as congressman, since year 2000. The most recent was in April 2009. (see www.legistorm.com for details) Usually he traveled with an aide, and their collective bills cost us taxpayers between $4000 and $6000 per visit.  How does that best serve the interests of his Worcester County district ?

No wonder McGovern couldn't pull much support for Martha Coakley. McGovern abuses the  system to support his leftist agenda, and expects all of us to pay for it.

Don't let the moonbats skate in.
You'd make a great Congressman, Greg.
The GOP could do a lot worse in Mass, and usually has.
