I would go to the Amalfi Coast in Italy.  Beautiful there, people are nice and it is very peaceful.

Great question! Especially as there are so many on these boards who insist you have to leave the country if you ever make any criticizing comment about it, or don't agree with their views.

Canada for sure. Like the USA, but the people are sane.

I vote costa rica. But you gotta get out with 100k per person to even qualify to buy in to the STATE HEALTHCARE AND PENSION. After that stay away from high slope real estate and the real estate below the high slopes. Also build for earthquakes. Aside from hawaii, costa rica is some of the newest land on earth. Whole lotta shaking. But Sooo beautiful, gotta put up with somethimg.

I would live in a little village called Medjugorje in Bosnia. It is like Heaven on Earth.

Japan, I meet the conditions to become a permanent resident. Plus the best food in the world, high standard of living, cheap booze, maid cafes, people still have manners, and nationalized health care. I have been to a Japanese hospital and recieved great services and not a single bill.

The ratio of women to men are 5 to 1. You can't beat those odds !

Re: If you were forced to leave the U.S. than what country would you go to?

Um...don't you mean "then" which country would you go to?  ;-)  And shouldn't there be a comma in there somewhere?

To answer the question: I'd hate to be "forced" to leave the US.  I'd miss NYC and the White Mountains of NH, I'd miss the craziness of Miami Beach and the expansive beauty of the Rockies.  I'd miss baseball (but not the designated hitter rule!) and I'd miss the crazy political personalities (although those seem to be in abundance all over the world these days.)

Canada seems like a logical choice, but then I'd pine for the US, being right on the border and all.  So I think I'd have to go the Netherlands.  They have beautiful cities, beautiful countryside and are leaders in health care and education.  The people are friendly and everyone has a bicycle.  Plus, once I was an EU citizen, I could freely travel anywhere.

Good question. A lot of countries don't take all immigrants. You can't just up and move to Canada unless you have certain qualifications.
