In Hudson, MA the police have suggested getting the costumes out a bit earlier than usual. They want the children to avoid being out in the dark, since so many sidewalks are impassable due to downed trees, snow, and ice. The fear is that children may walk I the street to avoid the debris on the sidewalk, and in the dark that could mean trouble. They suggest that trick or treating begin at 3 and end by 6 PM. -

Hi all - FYI, just got off the phone w/ Norfolk Town Hall and they told me it was postponed until Friday. -

I got a call from the Code Red service in Boxborough, saying it is postponed until Friday 5:30 - 8pm. -

Lincoln, MA has cancelled. Over 100 instances of live wires still down in town... Though the kids would love to get out, this is an obvious decision. Safety is the priority. -

huh? How does anyone "cancel" trick or treating? What are they gonna do, arrest kids? "ding song, trick or treat! Okay kids, get in the squad car, you're all coming with me. And give me that candy, that's evidence!".
towns don't cancel trick or treating, parents do. This is really, really silly.
