Today, October, 15, is National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day.

Here is one family's story.

I read this story and felt emotional because I couldn't help but think of my brother Nicholas. He was born 3 years before me, back in the 70s. He was born early and did not survive. I often wonder how he would have changed my life. And I imagine that my living brother, who was 4 at the time, felt similar to the children in this story after it happened. It has always helped to talk about and remember Nicholas. My brother named his first son Nicholas, which is comforting to us too. My nephew is a beautiful, smart, loving boy and I have no doubt his uncle would be proud.

If any of you have experienced a loss, I hope you are finding comfort and I wish your family peace.
