When do most folks decide? DS is 21 months old, we are expecting #2 when he turns two... and we are still trying to figure out whether we should or not and how much of a "boot camp" we should try if we do...

DS is pretty quirky (aren't all toddlers though?) and to our surprise, he seems be almost potty training at least for BM on his own... ever since Wednesday night, he would come to us, saying "p00p,p00p" so we check his diaper see nothing, and then plant him on the potty with the iPad and so far, usually in 15 minutes or so, he would p00p. We did miss one day when we did not attend fast enough, and he went in his diaper. Pee is still very iffy - sometimes he pees in there, other times, he does not care...

The other issue is that his daycare usually do not start potty training until 2 year olds... and his current room was not really setup for potty training. So we are conflicted because if he prefers to get access when he can, we don't want to hold him back... but then we need to figure out how to work daycare into the equation  (because it still takes him like 15-20 minutes to get comfortable to just release it once on the potty). Luckily, he usually just poops once a day or sometimes skips a day. And we know that he may regress when #2 is born...

DH was debating on doing like a boot camp (keep him home and focus on just the potty for a week or so) or just causal like we are doing now and even if we just get the BM part done now but not pee for a while, to let that be (seems like some people do it this way and yet some books say it makes training much harder).
