Holiday gifts for Early Intervention Specialists?

With the holidays coming up I'm wondering if I should get something for my twins SLP.  I know most of you seem to get things for daycare providers and pre-school teachers.
Anyone else have EI and if so, what did you get them?
    Thanks for any suggestions.

I hadn't thought about it yet but I do feel like I sould do something.  I will probably give them a tray of cookies and home made bread.  It's a go to present for me since I love making Christmas cookes.

This never even occurred to me!!

But I'm glad you brought this up: should I be getting something for our daycare teachers?  And what sort of thing?  Like cookies, or something else?  I really don't want to get into a lot of crazy present things, but I also don't want to be a loser if it's expected.

Medford--if your child is at a center, ask around. Things can get CRAZY with holiday gifts at daycare.  A friend had her daughter at a center where they literally took up a cash collection for the staff and suggested some insance contribution (like 10% of your tuition, I think).  I did a modest gift card for each of the teachers in DD's room last year, but I worried I was chintzing out.

Misslily and DZ - what did you decide to do for your EI specialists for the holidays?
I think I have decided on gift cards and notes of thanks for daycare, and am wondering if I should do the same for the EI person.  It feels a little strange, but on the other hand she is young and works two jobs and I'm sure it would be useful...

I have two EI specialists who come to me and I gave them each a $25 gift card to Amazon. I figure everyone can find something they like at Amazon.

I have 3 EI specialist and this year is really too tight to buy them anything with DH still not working 18 months after being laid off.  So I am going to give them plates of cookies.

DZ I'm so sorry to hear that about your DH. Hope he finds something soon. It must be really hard on all of you.
    Best wishes.

Thanks, guys.  DZ, ditto on misslily's good wishes.  Thinking of you.

My mom (who is usually the one there when the EI specialist comes) said she wanted to get her some board books.  Apparently the toys and books she sometimes brings with her are out of her own pocket!  So I think we will do that, with gift receipt so she can exchange them for something for herself if she prefers.  :)
