We have a great nanny and we are sad to see her go, but I just finished my masters degree and we are moving back down to DC. Our nanny took care of two children in a nanny-share arrangement from 6 months to almost 3 years old. They were raised practically like twins. Our nanny established a regular weekly outing schedule filled with story-time, music classes, art classes, park visits, play-dates, as well as museum, aquarium and science museum trips. She managed three meals and 2 snacks a day in our homes, provided potty training support and developed a regular daily schedule that was easy to follow for the children on the weekends. She also prepared them well for pre-school. She would do daily lessons with flash cards, practice songs, use the chalkboard to practice letters and numbers, days of the week, etc. Our children fit right in at day-care and pre-school, well-ahead of the other kids. She taught four sleep-deprived parents how to sleep train the little ones so they were finally on a proper sleep schedule. As needed, she was available to us evenings, weekends and over-night. Most importantly, we have never worried about her with our children and she has helped to raise our kids to be bright, inquisitive, wonderful and polite young people.
She is open to a nanny share arrangement if the two families live close together or providing care for twins. Her references, besides this one, were superb and we checked them thoroughly and she passed her background check.
