    Another new TTC-Status!!!

Starting another new status b/c the other one's getting too long again!

Good luck to OCC and lesal today with your u/s!  Hope all goes well and can't wait to hear the latest news!

Rhm-  What's the next step for you?  More b/w or an u/s?  Still smiling about your news this week!

Big hello's to Kar, Vases, ALF, Stef, Amie, LIL, miss lilly and anyone else I may have missed!

AFM-  I've decided to take this month off for TTC... Don't get me wrong, we're not using protection (!) and if it happens, it happens, but I'm not monitoring.  I went to Newport this past weekend and after walking around for a few hours, my back was really hurting again.  So I made an appt with a spine specialist, and unfortunately, they can't get me in until July 15th.  Just think it's important to deal with this first before continuing with TTC.

Hope everyone has a nice 4th!  DH and I are heading up to Montreal for a few days!  Looking forward to it!

good idea blush - thanks for staring a new thread again!  :)

my ttc status is - i am filling my progesterone Rx and debating taking it to bring on AF, in the hopes of maybe "jolting" my hormones back into action.  still no sign of ovulation at day 64.  ugh!  (does anyone know, btw, how much your bbt spikes upon ovulation - it's significant, right?)  :(  oh well, i've got to try to learn to stop obsessing over this.  it can't be productive!

misslily, when are you due with the twins?  and daisy if you're reading hope you're doing well with your new twins!

hope you all have very happy 4ths!

Thanks, blush! I was actually thinking the old one was getting a bit long, too. Have a great weekend celebrating America's Independence by going to Canada - lol! Hope the specialist appointment when you get back goes well.

good luck to our u/s ladies - lesal and occ!

stefani - I thought progesterone makes AF stay away. I'm confused. Do you take that and then stop which will bring AF?

    big hellos to eoe-

Made my scan for next Tuesday at 4PM. No more b/w for now since it seems to be going well. DH will be joining me. Even if there's not much to see, I think he'd find it interesting and I'd get barraged with questions if he didn't come.

DH always came to my early u/s, and would nearly knock the tech over to get a better view of the baby. it's really exciting to see these first pictures (make sure you ask for a copy-even if there isn't anything too visible to see). He actually stopped coming with me when I was set up with monthly scans, but he came for the big 10/20 wk one and the last one at the end. Hopefully you won't need montly scans, while theire fun, kind of a PITA going all the time. Wishing you the best!

I had a great website that showed all the stages of the development, down to the first stages at the 4 cell level. I'll dig it out and post it for you, and others, to view. (I obsessed over it, looking at it daily particularly until the fingers were formed.)

ETA: I posted the webiste under the pregnancy boards in a new post.

Rhm - Next Tuesday very exciting.  Why not have DH go with you it's been a long road for both of you enjoy the excitement together.

Blush - Sorry to hear about your back.  I think you are doing the right thing to get it taken care of before you get your BFP.  Enjoy your long holiday weekend in Canada. Have a cocktail for me!

Well I graduated today.  Everything was fine.  Strong heartbeat 167 and measuring where I am supposed to be.  My due date is February 14th.

Thanks for all the well wishes and support everyone.

Good luck in the TWW Vase.  Hang in there Stef.

Alf - I thought you had a Dr. appt this week. How did it go?

Lesal - waiting to hear how it went today.

well things are still plugging along here!  I had my u/s today, and am measuring 12w6d, which is still a couple days ahead, but it's been like that all along.  DH came too, and everything looks good - the baby is really moving around alot!  I can't believe I can't feel it, but I guess it will be another 6 weeks or so before I do feel anything.  I'm actually just about starting the 2nd trimester now, so should think about telling work and everyone soon!

glad to hear everyone's updates, have a great holiday weekend!

OCC, my fingers are crossed for you today.....

oh, OCC I got distracted before I posted so I missed yours!  Congratulations!!!!!  That is a great heartbeat and Valentine's Day - yay!!

I wanted to tell you, don't stress about lack of symptoms.  easier said than done, but I guess it really is possible to have a healthy pregnancy without morning sickness.  I never had it, and even my tiredness went away before 11 wks.  most of the stuff the books mention, I don't have.  even the bbs are pretty much the same size (unfortunately for me, lol).  I feel basically normal now, just dealing with acne and feeling fat, which isn't so bad.  so I hope you continue to feel good!

I've got weird stuff happening.  I started spotting AGAIN today. It's day 7 or 8 of my cycle.  Usually it's a dark brownish discharge when I spot, but it's bright red today.  I had massive cramps this AM too that lasted for a good 5 minutes.  I rarely get cramps.  I have no freaking idea what is going on. The dr said I was fine on Monday.  We had our furnace replaced yesterday and the house reeks of diesel, so maybe it's that?!  I have no freaking clue. I'm hoping it clears up on it's own, esp before a holiday weekend.  This is totally bizarre.

Very strange Alf.  Could it be a residual from your period?  How long does that usually last?  I have also heard it can happen after getting lucky.

ALF - can you call your doc back right now before he's gone for the weekend to ask? I'd hate to be stressed about that all weekend.

Nothing too much going on here. Counting the hours 'till I'm done with work for the day and week. We're off to CT tomorrow to see the new niece.

alf - I would call the doctor this afternoon to try and catch them before the weekend.  I've had weird spotting, but it was always just prior to AF.  I've also heard it can happen around ovulation, but that sounds a little early for that.  How long does AF usually last - I'm generally still spotting by day 7 so a last hurrah of bright red wouldn't be that crazy for me.  But if AF has been over for a few days now, that sounds strange.  Better to call the dr and not worry about it all weekend, especially since you were just there yesterday to talk about the spotting.

    have a great weekend everyone!

    Re: Another new TTC-Status!!!

OCC, we did BD last night (I'm assuming that's what you mean by getting lucky.  lol). I've had it happen right afterwards, but never a good 8-12 hours later.

AF generally lasts 4-5 days.  The last 5 or 6 days are residual spotting that is brownish. This is bright red and is annoying the living c*rap out of me. I just bought new undies this week too.  Figures.  lol.  I'm going to wait to see if it clears up on it's own.  My mom thinks I'm "cooking a future DHLast Name".  I kid you not; that is what she said this AM.  She said that she seemed to recall that happening to her when she was pg w/ me, but did admit it was hard to remember back that long.  lol.  I can't see how I'd be cooking a little one since the last time we BD was before AF arrived, and then last night.  Maybe it's weird ovulation?  Who knows?! I'm going to wait till Monday.  I could call the doctor, but they don't get the messages till the end of the day. And the holiday is celebrated tomorrow, so the clinic is closed then.  I'll just wait till Monday.

Alf - Have you considered getting one of those fertility monitors that Blush uses?   They are much better and more accurate than the OPK.  It might be a good idea so you know what's going on.

ALF, I'm not sure whether you've had an ultrasound lately.  Sometimes bleeding between periods can be caused by uterine fibroids and an ultrasound would detect that.  I think they can cause infertility if they get out of hand.  Here's more information....

Thanks, am.  I had an HSG performed back in the fall.  Wouldn't they have found it then?  it says that's one of the ways to diagnose it.  If it's still causing problems on Monday, I'll call the dr again.  There's no point today since the clinic is closed now and won't open again till Monday.  I'll see what they suggest about an ultrasound.  I don't have any symptoms listed other than the bleeding.

OCC, I just take my temperature and chart. I don't use any monitors or OPKs.

I'm almost at the end of our 2ww....  Glad there's a new thread.  Thanks, blushing.  Maybe we could start having new ones on the first of every month like Confidentials does.

heather - welcome! Also read your other post. Please feel free to jump in with any questions.

AFM (which means "as for me") - saw my new niece yesterday. She is pretty cute. Typical newborn...slept a lot and when she was awake, she needed to be changed and fed (ie: eat, sleep and po0p). Also got to see our nephew who is 8 months old. It made it a lot easier with our secret BFP. My mom asked me about an update on the DE when she got me alone so I told her that we were approved by insurance and what happens in the process. She was getting very excited for us which made me feel a little guilty that I wasn't sharing, but it also made me think how surprised and excited they will be if this miracle continues...
Off to a bbq today. Happy 4th everyone!

    Re: Another new TTC-Status!!!

    Hello Ladies,

Wanted to introduce myself as well, as I'm gearing up for my first IVF experience. TTC for over a year...when I went off BCP my friend AF stopped arriving, maybe every 4 months. A friend hooked me up with Dr P. at 10th Floor Vincent and I was recently diagnosed with PCOS, Hypothyroidism, and thanks to our fav HSG (oh the burning!)...2 blocked FTs. With all that was stacked against us, and especially with my hormone levels we had a choice to do LAP which may or may unblock the FTS in conjunction with Clomid/IUI or go straight to IVF. I knew nothing a month ago when I was given the choice, but now I see by reading the boards that we are lucky to get to go straight to IVF. So right now Im on Day 6 of Prometrium to force AF so I can do my mock transfer and I think the nurse said something called AF?, but don't remember what that is exactly. Still not 100% clear what the timeframe/process for everything will be even though I have my handy manual. Originally when I met with Dr P last month it sounded like he was thinking end of August for the retrieval.

Anyways - I see how much you support each other here and are willing to answer questions, so I would love to be part of your group. I remember quite a few of you from the wedding boards back in the day (just got a new screenname for more confidentiality). I know I will need a few people who understand the process as I dive head-first into it. So, thank you all in advance. In the end, I know it may be a long road, but it's worth every step to finally get that BFP.

    Welcome, Mary!

You are in good company here with the issues you've described, although, I can't relate...or at least I don't know it if I can.  We've been TTC only since November of last year.

Given the holiday weekend, please forgive folks for not jumping in right away and saying, "HOWDY!"  I would be with DH at a family party out of state if we hadn't just gotten a puppy.  She's too young and still adapting to life here to rip her out of her newly familiar environment.  Not to mention that she's not potty trained!

I'm sure when Monday comes around you'll get a good welcome.  I was slow to feel comfortable here, but these kind ladies have been super about it, not pushy but welcoming.

Best to you, our new friend,

    ~kar

    Re: Another new TTC-Status!!!

Welcome Heather and Mary, and hello to everyone else!

Mary, I am midway through my first IVF cycle right now, after an HSG indicated that my right tube is almost completely blocked.  (More info is saved in my profile if you want more details).

I have been injecting 10 units of Lupron since June 24, and this coming Monday if my bloodwork checks out, I'll begin the stimulation phase.  It will be with 375 units of gonal-f (and continuing 5 units of Lupron), with tentative retrieval and transfer dates of July 20 and 23.   AF arrived on schedule yesterday, so I currently have terrible cramps and my RE told me I can't take any advil because it negatively impacts estrogen levels during IVF, so I'm suffering through this weekend with a heating pad and (useless) Tylenol.

So welcome aboard - and I agree with you that it will all be worth it if we can achieve success at the end.  Everyone here is supportive (rather unlike the wedding boards), and has great advice about things.  So don't be afraid to ask questions or just vent when you need to.

    Happy 4th everybody!

    Re: Another new TTC-Status!!!

Welcome Mary! I didn't have the same issues as you do, but I also go to MGH, but see another doctor. When I first went to MGH, we had been ttc for a year and had unexplained infertility. After 3 IUI's (insurance required), we did 2 IVF's, both of which didn't work for me. Turns out I have diminished ovarian reserve. However, by some miracle, the cycle after my 2nd IVF, DH and I were not ttc and were focused on getting approved and starting the process for donor egg when we got our BFP last week. What I'm trying to say is that I know a lot about the different procedures. I can tell you the mock transfer is really not a huge deal - I didn't find it painful or a long procedure. WAAAY better than the HSG. Please ask any questions as there are several of us who have gone through IVF on the board. Btw, I'm now curious as to who you may have been on the wedding boards, but respect your confidentiality Smile

flaxen - how is the Lupron going? Are you getting headaches? Hope you get good results on your u/s Monday and the stims can begin!

    Re: Another new TTC-Status!!!

I just wanted to say hi to heather & mary - and to anyone else that may be lurking.  This is a very supportive group, and we've all been through so much that there is alot of knowledge about everything related to TTC.  I'm so thankful that I found this group.

For the record, my TTC problem has been multiple miscarriages, with some irregular cycles in between pregnancies.  I've gotten pregnant the 'old fashioned way' each time, but have been through a complete workup of testing through a fertility clinic and lived to tell about it :)  Also have tried charting and opks (neither of which happened to work for me, I only got pregnant on months I wasn't doing anything other than observing cm)  And after 3 1st trimester miscarriages and 1 chemical pregnancy, I am now pregnant again and just made it to my 2nd trimester!

Flaxen - good luck this cycle!  hope you are feeling better now.
