cwag...I'm in the "really" phase too...kind of feeling a little shell-shocked.  Just walked through the mall and was noticing all of the double strollers out there...so crazy!!

All I know about nursing while pregnant is sometimes milk production can drop, especially later in the pregnancy.  Also, some babies apparently find a difference in taste they don't like and start refusing the breast.
I'm not a doctor, though, so I have no idea about the miscarriage risk.

    Good luck!

    Re: December TTC

    Hello,

I'm glad I was lurking around here today.  CLC you're right, I did nurse while pregnant.  My DD was only 6.5 months when I got pregnant again, and I did continue to nurse her during my second pregnancy.  My OB had no problem with it, but did warn me that my supply might drop (as Lissa said).  Your body starts to focus on the new baby and produces less milk no matter what the demand is from your older child.  Unfortunately, my supply did dramatically decrease around the start of my second tri (DD was 9.5 months).  It was quite devistating for me since my daughter was so young still, and I had hoped to nurse her throughout her first year.  Hopefully in your case, since your LO is older, it will just encourage a natural weaning.

Of course if you are high risk you should discuss this with your doctor.

ETA: Where are my manners? Congrats to Luv and CWagner on your BFPs!!!

Congrats winter, luv & cwag!!! What a great way to end the year and begin a new one!

Does anyone have experience with really early ovulation? I was expecting it sometime between now and the end of the week but I think it actually happened last week. Very very early for me. Is that normal?

It can happen literally at any time in your cycle even if you're usually very regular.  Even during AF.

This article might be relevant, cici.  It seems like these things vary a lot.
...look at the graphs especially. Note they assume a 6-day fertile window (day of ovulation + 5 days before), so you can get a sense of the distribution of days of ovulation from it...

Congrats Luv and Cwag!!! Wow, what great news this time of year!! And fun to see some of the same folks on the same cycle again. I believe Poppy and Luv were only a few days or weeks apart for round 1. I'm on day 24, not really feeling it and starting to get the headache I get right before AF. A tad early for that, but it is creeping up on the side of my head just like it does. Luv, how long did it take you and DH the first time? We were 6 months with DS and if this month doesn't take, then going into 6 months this time. What a drag. First time I called the OB and they gave me and HSG dye test month 6 (got PG 4 days later). Wonder if I would need that again????

    Re: December TTC

IPW, my fertility doctor told me if we tried for #2 and it didn't work within 6 months, to call and schedule another HSG test, because maybe that's what I needed to get pregnant. Definitely worth a shot if you are concerned, but I'd give it more time if I were you (younger!)

I'm having a bit of ambivalance about a second, feeling like I couldn't possibly love another child as much as I love DD or handle any more than I already have on my plate, but I have this bad habit of counting the number of new pregnancies on this board and in real life and feeling a little left out - like I really want to be part of the crowd with the sexy round bellies!

I think I am just preparing myself for bad news. I had my cardiologist and urologist fax records over to my OBGYN today, and when the doctors office called to confirm receipt of the records and set up an appointment, I got an "oh, well....we are going to put have you meet with the head of obstetrics and have him schedule a pre-visit call with your cardio." (DD was delivered by the mid-wife team) The appointment is January 9th, pray for me, send me good thoughts!

Meanwhile, I am surfing pinterest at work today saying that if another pregnancy is not in the cards, I am going to go blow a ton of money on new clothes. :)

    Re: December TTC

IPW, we seem to get lucky pretty quickly...last time it was month 4 of trying, followed by a miscarriage, then the pregnancy that resulted in DD in the very next cycle.  This time, we were on cycle 3 of really trying, but cycle 6 of not preventing.

ML, I'll be thinking of you on the 9th.  To my mind, having the whole team on board from the get go means they're doing their due diligence and want to have as comprehensive a picture of what happened last time and how you've done since as they can.  Don't count yourself out until they do!  You'll be high-risk this time, even if nothing happens, which is why you'd go to the OB right away.  Don't read things into it that aren't there yet!!!

thanks for the well wishes :) hopefully it sticks around (I tend to feel more comfortable that it will stick once we can see the heartbeat).

winter - I also did the POAS really early this AM, and left it out for DH - it was stronger positive today so I guess we need to start planning dr visits (and I just saw my OB a month ago for annual checkup). And DH was reeling around the house this morning, asking how are we going to manage getting 2 kids out the door when it seems to take forever to get one ready and out the door.

    Re: December TTC

Made an appt with an OB for mid January. Since my practice wanted me to see all the OBs last time, I don't really have an assigned OB. So I spoke with their nurse about my question about needing a second HSG. She almost laughed while saying no, and said my first HSG probably had nothing to do with my first PG. so I laughed back and said, "that's interesting you think that as the doctor who performed it thought it was exactly what helped me get PG that cycle". I need a new OB/practice if we're going to do this again!!

IPW, that's odd she laughed; it's a very common theory that it can be just the thing that leads to success.  Not to mention that it was rude to laugh in the first place.  Lovely.

    Re: December TTC

Yeah, Dr. Ian Hardy of fertility centers of new england recommended an HSG test for a second go around for me, and he is the fertility specialist with the highest success rate in the nation (or there abouts), but I am sure that woman who answered the phone knew way more about it than he does....

I do really recommend Women's Healthcare in Newburyport for an OB/GYN. They are located right in the hospital at Anna Jaques and everyone I met was wonderful, and when scary things happened somehow it was less scary that I was already at the hospital and didn't have to get in a car and drive over. I know alot of women who have also had great experiences at Beverly Hospital.
