The second round win isn't measly in the NHL. That would put them into the final four. This isn't football, where you have to win 2 games and you are in the super bowl.

Imagine that... People going into college have never even seen the Bruins win in the second round of the playoffs. I can't even wrap my head around that

Zilla Siden failed to support Borque and Neely with the players they needed to make a run once Hodge and Middleton were gone. Oates and Janney were ok but they couldnt compete. But he didnt build teams the woulda had a chance vs 80's Edmonton (Gretzkey/Messier/Kurri/Coffee), Early 90's penguins (Lemieux, Jagr, Recchi) and the Canadiens who road Roy into the playoffs every year.
The drafting during the last 15 years as GM was awful then passed the buck to O'Connell who let his players walk away then waved his hands and said "we need a salary cap".
They might have saved the sport but they did no favors to the Bruins during 90's 00's
