    Re: Bergeron Traded...

Do you people forget it's not always the best talented team that wins? Look at Detroit & how long they've been a contender? It's not just Zetty & Datsy & Lindy that made them what they are. It's the Cleary's, Holstroms & Drapers that that also have been HUGE!!! That's our Bergy! He's one of the best 2 way centers in the game & I find he's even stronger now than before he got hurt. And you know what? Any player in the league is one hit away from retirement! Doesn't matter how many concussions you've had previously. The B's have far too many other players & draft picks at their disposal then to get rid of someone who has the capability of winning a Conn Smythe!. If Claude Lemieux can win one. Bergy certainly can! NO WAY IN HELL THE B's TRADE BERGY! Unless it's a Kolvachuk, or a Lecalvier then I'd say OK. Besides isn't Begery the only one Lappierre of the scabs will drop the gloves with? LOL.

In Response to Re: Bergeron Traded...: Sure trade Thomas and who do you expect the back up to be?  I believe the Rask will be a good NHL goalie but he has a total of 10 NHL games played, he needs to develop at the NHL level.

The goalie that the Bruins face tonight was similar to Rask, big expectations when he first came out and his record the first 2 years:
4-14-2 in 21 games followed by 13-27-0-6 in 50 games and a few stints in the AHL.
Keep Thomas and Rask together and let him develop and have a strong goalie tandem for the next couple of years.
[QUOTE]Personally I think the Bruins should keep Bergeron on the first line with Savvy and Looch when they return. I also like a second line of Krejci, Wheeler, and Ryder. I agree with some of the other people who have said that if anybody should be traded it is Tim Thomas, as Rask looks like he could be a starter.

[QUOTE]Bergeron could be a 1st line winger on Savards line he has soft hands, passes intelligently. skates well has good shot. These are all intangibles needed to be a 1st line winger so why not try that. I'am sure they could find a 3rd line checking line center as they come easier then 1st line players. Why haven't we used Bergeron on the point on the pp he makes good passes and his shot is good. Just my thoughts.

Agreed, we need someone with some talent to play with Savvy

    Re: Bergeron Traded...

The trade scenario is correct, Bergeron has the best trade value.  Linked with a 1st and 2nd rounder could net Kovy.  Caveat in the thinking:  Jacobs will not sign Kovy to a multi year deal at 9 million per season, period.  The cap hit to sign Kovy would have to be in the same neighborhood as his contract now.  I don't think Kovy (Ovechkin contract in mind) would give Boston a home town discount that Bergeron will in another year. Not going to happen!  Try for a Colin Wilson....

I have been preaching this since the start of the year.
    Bergeron   Savard    Lucic
    Wheeler    Krejci      Ryder
    Sturm      Begin      Recchi
    Bitz         Sobotka   Thornton
Once we get a better scoring winger for Savy we could than put the
    Recci    Bergeron    Sturm line together
Seems like the an easy way to get the offense goin although I do understand that Bergeron value playing and neutralising the other teams top center is the best in the league right now in my opinion.  However give Begin a chance at this, I love this guy! True Bruin

Pail is better than anyone on your 3rd or 4th line.

Bergy is a top player on any team, his job has mostly been the shut down guy and he has still put up points, my brother a 'habs' fan would love to have him, says that is where he belongs. This is said by any fan of any other team, I do not understand why people on here do not see the hockey game as it is played. This whole team has been underacheiving from the get go, so everyone's stats are going to be down. The other night was the most exciting in a long time with the most passion and chances. They could have scored a ton of goals and as the season goes some of these will be buried and some more glorious ones will be missed. They are going to start to put it together and to do so definitely requires Bergy.

I like our 4th line but they are not a defensive specialist line and should not be used as such, it is going to cost us using them in D zone faceoffs. They should be kept together but used as a 4th line is meant to be 10-12 mins a game.

Sav and Luc will be back shortly and it will be great to have them and all players will have less pressure and Bergy will not have to carry the load that has seemed to be left to him. Tonight will be a test tosee if they can post back to back exciting games. A win is a bonus but a loss to Pit with a great game played will be acceptable with forward progress from where we've been.

nows the best time and has so much value.
what if Ovechkin pulls a Kaleta on him it could be career ending.
or is it u bruin fans think we can trade nothing and get a superstar
because the other teams in this league are not dummies
