Re: Bruins still hawking Opening Nite tickets......

Because I once went to a Capitals game, I still get emails from them.  Towards the end of the season, and during the play-offs, there would be ticket offers that always started with "Per NHL policy a limited number of tickets to <such-and-such-game> have been withheld and are now up for sale.  Act quick supplies are limited!"
I'm guessing this is the same thing, though I've never seen a place that actually delineates the policy they mentioned.

on their website. I guess they can't find 17,565 idiots to pay for ridiculously priced seats. Once again they got too greedy.................

Amen to that Nash, Jacobs doubled and tripled the ticket prices for this season! That may be a record in pro sports for a 1 season increase. I used to be able to get a $10.00 ticket. That same seat will now cost me $37.50. Absolutely shameful

Usually I'm am strongly against the ticket agencies who take most of the tickets but you're better off buying tickets from the ticket brokers this year, their prices are well below the box office price that the Bruins have set for this year. I just bought 2 tix to opening night from Ace for $80 a pair after the service charges, they are in the loge behind the net. The box office price for these same seats would be $140 since it is considered a gold level game. I have also bought tix to 4 other games for the upcoming season all in the loge well below the box office prices, so my advice is to check out the ticket brokers this year.

Wow.  They still haven't sold out.  And Ovechkin coming to town.

Hmm... so I think I might go.  I see what seats I can get.  $183.40 total for seats 15 and 16 row 10 in section 320.  Holy cripes.  I think those are the cheapest seats there are.  Certainly they are awful seats, on a diagonal at the Bruins end (that they defend twice).

Is this right?  Am I missing something?

Last time I went just 2 years ago I shelled out like $20 a ticket to scalper for an exhibition game against the Leafs, center ice loge.  So I thought I could pay like $50 for the nosebleeds.

Can somebody clue me in?  Am I out of touch or is this the reality?  I am using the links right off the Bruins page.

That's gotta be wrong somehow.  I got 2 tickets off StubHub 2nd row balcony where they shoot twice for around $160 including shipping charges.

I'd be there in a New York minute if I didn't have to work.

If you watched the MSG feed for the exhibition games the Bruins played vs. the Rangers, you would have seen constant ticket-hawking ads. This is not unique to Boston, though provincialists undoubtedly believe so. Probably the only opening-week games that sold out instantly were Toronto and Montreal.

Re: Bruins still hawking Opening Nite tickets......

I don't think there is going to be as many empty seats as people think.  After talking with an employee at the box office for tickets he said they had sold something like 5,000 more seats between season tickets and the multiple game plans. He said its been unbelievable in regard to the increase in sales this year. If you look online at the season tickets availability or call the box office about the 10 game plans, a large majority of them are sold out. And all this adds up to a small number of individual game tickets available, which means higher prices. It's all about supply and demand.

Having said that I hope the Garden is rocking every night this year. Thinking about game 7 last year, although it was a tough loss the crowd was unreal. While on the escalators everyone was pounding on the railings and walls chanting "Let's Go Bruins!" It would be pretty amazing if the Garden could sell out every night for the B's this year. That would mean all four major sports teams in Boston would have sold out every game for the year, a pretty remarkable feat.

They are already cutting prices...$99 for loge seats? Those are supposed to be $150. This is for opening nite. How do they expect to sell a Tues nite vs Nashville tix for $150...? They are way, way, way out of line for hockey in Boston. Jacobs must have become delirious after he won one playoff round

Agree, even Jacobs was too greedy setting these prices. Very few people will pay $150 to see anybody but a B's/Habs game in the regular season. Definately not a Nashville or Florida mess.
