Hmm. 6 milllion cleared, the Blackhawks need a #1 goalie. Huet rumored to go to Toronto. -

Toronto has Giguere, why would they want Huet?
Thomas and a 2nd to Chicago for Sharp and Barker? -

The New York Post per ESPN has a source telling them that the Caps will give up Theodore and a forward (maybe Fleischmann) for Thomas. -

It is absolutely the right time to move Thomas. He is a valuable chip, regardless of the ridiculous contract they gave him. Don't want to waive the NTC?.....
Hey Tim, Rask is our #1 now and in the future, still want to stay? -

N\o idea, but Huet was rumored to be going to the Leafs. If Vokoun is rumored and Thomas, that sort of leaves the Blackhawks without any semblance of a #1, doesn';t it? Maybe they feel Thomas and/or Vokoun is the guy? Would LOVE to see Patrick Sharp in black and gold. I knew they'd have to move someone because of the cap issue, but I wasn't sure someone would take on Thomas. -

Moving Thomas is a radical move....not saying it should not be done, but this team usually comes up short in the radical moves dept. ie Thorton trade, Bourque trade, etc -

Rather have Sharp over Fleischmann. Savard to Sharp would be lethal. -

Seriously, both of those trades involving Thomas would help the Bruins. Id rather see him go to Chicago though, considering we are probably playing Washington in the 1st round of the playoffs (if we make the playoffs). -

Looks like Patient Pete has run out of patience. Looks like he may be blowing this team up. Can't help but think there's more to come. -

If we trade Thomas and Lucic, we sure as hell better get at least a 2nd round pick in return with Sharp and Huet. -

Do we have any links showing that the B's are actively shopping Thomas or is this all speculative? -

I'm sorry but I disagree that Lucic and Thomas for Sharp and Huet would be too much.
Sorry guys, but Lucic is NOT worth his contract and neither is Thomas. They make close to 10 mil between them. Thomas is now a back-up, and Lucic makes too much.
In hockey, how much you make is just as important as how good you are because the cap is so constrictive. -

In Response to Re: ESPN has Huet, Vokoun and Thomas On Move:Blackhawks beat writer reported: Thomas & Lucic to Chicago for Huet, Sharp & draft pick was discussed before Olympic breakThis would be a fleecing. Huet can back up Rask, Sharp provides 30 goal touch and two play alongside Savard . Love both Thomas and Lucic with what they can do, but Sharp has been someone I have wanted in black and gold for a while. He's sort of what they have needed on the top line for a while. Sturm was supposed to be that guy, but he's more 2nd line material. I am wondering why that deal was only discussed. PC should have sweetened the pot a little.

Exactly Drew, There are no links! This discussion was started by someone who is laughing hysterically right now. This board is fun to read!

Not possibly or maybe, but "on the move". This leads one to believe with the goalie situation for many teams the way it is, with Philly and the Islanders now with missing goalies, Washington apparently lookingn to improve as well as CHicago, this is a very real possibility, discussed on a rumor board on ESPN or not. If more than 2 teams are involved it;s likely a slightly complicated deal. Florida is clearly unloading salary and rebuilding, so it's likely the Vokoun rumor has some legs as well as Huet in Chicago who has never been a #! goalie anywhere other than by default on rebuilding teams. That leaves us with a rested and healthy Thomas.

In Response to Re: ESPN has Huet, Vokoun and Thomas On Move:lucic has ben playing on the fourth line put him with a scorer and savy on the first line then he can produce because all the attention isnt focused on him and savy lucic is not a stickhandler hes a banger. He was the second option on that line last year and he produced you take that scorer away and you dont got squat except a guy who can pass (savy) with no primary option. looch is clearing the way for who bitz ,begin, paille. cmon man. He is the type of guy you trade and he kills it on the other team.

Its about supply and demand.
There are more bangers than there are jobs for them. Its why you can get quality bangers (Sean Thornton) for 500K. Lucic makes more than Savard. In order to be worth this kind of money he has to do more than bang and "score when the focus isnt on him".
If he's not scoring 25-30 AND banging, he's not worth his contract. -
