    game thread: bruins vs wings

detroit  seems to have a few injuries  mabe the bruins can step it up and pull this one out ,hate to use injuries as a motivator but the way the bruins are going win one lose one ,bruins need to break the ice soon and win the next 2...lets go bruins

A win is a win and they need a couple in a row. Tonight would be a great place to start.

Re: game thread: bruins vs wings

--Detroit is very similar to Boston in that they lost Franzen and Flippula to long term injury and started out with average goaltending.

--Tonight Rafalski has the flu which should help weaken the Detroit blueline.

--Sturm and Bergeron reunite on line 1 tonight. Last years krejci-ryder-wheeler super line has also been re-created. This was inevitable, glad to see Julien finally succumbed to this. Although goals should come, it noticeably weakens the third line and abolishes bostons greatest asset: the line depth.

--Thomas has a history of playing a strong game against Detroit.

--Special teams will win this game. If Boston cont' to struggle on the PP, they will not beat Detroit. Detroit has snipers, so Boston will need to keep out of the box and continue the strong PK they have had recently.

The Bruins will win tonight if for no other reason than the stink of the Detroit Lions has made its way around the corner in Detroit and started to rub off on the Wings. It was bound to happen sooner or later. Bruins win 3-2 tonight.

the win one, lose one pattern continues with a solid 2-1 Bruins victory.

Tim Thomas shines in his home state.

    2-0 after first!

I don't think getting savard and lucic will help this team. The are being out worked in every game! How many goals have we seen due to no back check?

Detroit has half AHL defense and B's still cant score.

Last year ther B's were hard to play against...this year I think teams look forward to it.

If the bs doing start be a hard working team there are going no where, they don't have enough skill to put a half a@s effort and win.

I hope they can turn it around...tonight!

My god.......a couple of solid bodychecks, and, again, good job by Bergeron, but, for the rest........

A Bergeron's great play should have lead to a goal, but Sturm rolled it on the red line. Marco just can't buy a goal. He looked very discouraged.

The power play was horrible.....Chara looked awful again....Ryder is the Invisible man......the team has just NO punch.

thomas look terrible, I was afraid that this year he wouldn't have to fight for the number one job and he wouldn't be any good. Time to sit him or get rid of him.

They started well but again cannot finish. They go on PP with some momentum, stink it up and it's a 2-0 effortless lead for the Wings.

Osgood is playing out of his mind.  The B's have gotten several solid chances and just can't seem to bury it.

Kessel is looking good, even after being rocked , now back on the ice and must have about 5 shots on net.
Meanwhile back in motortown it's now 4 scoreless periods for Bruins and counting.

Osgood is playing very well, the Krejci Ryder Wheeler line is looking very good, but 20 push ups for Krejci not stopping on the goal on that 3 on 2
