Guarenteed Jacobs will blow up this team just like he did in 2004 and then blame it on the poor economy
how was the owner of the bruins able to put pressure on an owner of the sabres about the price of tickets?
He's the self-appointed spokesman for the owners because of his involvement in the current CBA and salary cap. Why wouldn't he feel free to pressure some other team about ticket prices? His fingerprints are all over the current financial set-up of the league.
Go back a couple weeks and check out the thread entitled "Jacobs is an absolute moron." It will link you to an article where Jacobs talks ad nauseum about how expensive the CBA is. It's rather telling, considering that he's been one of the most profitable owners for years.

Looks like Jacobs took his own advice, he has certainly tested "the top end" this season!

    What a concept!

In the worst recession since the great depression lets raise all the prices by a minimum of 100%

Once again folks, vote with your wallets. Tell Dr. Evil that you won't pay his prices. If you have to go to a game DO NOT buy anything at the garden.

Rent trading places from the eighties to see how to really hurt rich people, take their money away. Jacobs would sell his kid before losing any profits.

The only real good news is that JJ is getting older and will someday soon have to retire. His sons will sell the team just to get out of the pressure JJ has put them in. The Bruins will have good Boston ownership and the sons will get the profits of selling the Bruins and we as fans will finally be rid of the Jacobs. Maybe they will buy the Sabres and put them thur 45 years of hell.

35 years of hell, 45 years covers two cups and Jacobs has won nothing here except capitalist of the century.

Don't think he will ever retire, personally I believe the man hates hockey and is out to destroy the game with Bettman.

Retirement will not save us, our only hope is death.

Even when the old basterd kicks the bucket nothing will change, Charlie will just take over the operation and from what I've read and heard he might be worse then his old man!

Imagaine what kind of little monster you would be, being raised by someone like JJ

Exactly, typical old scrooge.  Hes the reason why the BRuins are a financialy sound orginization, you should be greatful.  Remember, when the Briuns we awful after the strike it wasnt Jacobs fault...you can blame Sinden and O'Connell.  Jacobs has never been the reason why this team hasnt won.  Blame bad decisions by managment.

The Bruins are a damn good team right now.  If you dont like the prices, dont go.

Don't take this wrong but...ARE YOU NUTS!!!!!!

Grateful for years of abuse from Montgomery Burn's dream man. Grateful for no cups in 35 years. Grateful for always being "1 players away" that would have effected profits pre lockout so that player was never obtained. Grateful for being the abused spouse in a relationship. Grateful for having the worst owner in pro sports running our team.

Listen Dale Arnold go back to EEI and defend your hero there, I don't envision you garnering a great deal of support for Dr. Evil here. Nor should you.

Maybe we should also be grateful for the Swine Flu, HIV, Global Warming, High Taxes, the Economy, Wars, Poverty, Starvation. Grateful to JJ.

    GET REAL.

And this has nothing to do with attending games or giving JJ money. This has to do with years of having the worst owner in sports own the team.

Your is a statement that defies all logic. Should Baltimore Colts fans be grateful to Robert Irsay? Should New Orleans be grateful to Katrina? Catholics grateful about the Spanish inquisition? Are you that blind or have you been following the team only after the strike?

Are you serious? They worked FOR Jacobs, every financial decision goes through him. They were merely foot soldiers taking direct orders from him. I love the Bruins but we have been one of the most pathetic franchises in the NHL for the last 20 years, sorry but I'm not greatful for that!

You are misinformed.  Ok fine, financial decisions went thru him..he's the owner, that makes sense.  They spent money, look it up, they just spent it on the wrong players.  The bruins were in the best position of any team in the NHL before the cap era, why?  Because Jacobs was able to foresee the economic landscape, better than any owner or GM.  HE put them in position to field a rock solid team but O'Connell dropped the ball, big time which is why he was fired.

Are you dilusional? O'Connell wanted to resign Rolston, Knuble, Nylander, etc Jacobs told him FLAT OUT NO, dont sign anybody because he wanted to get all the players dirt cheap, the problem was the 20% roll back of all the salaries and the Bruins had to settle with Leetch

No offense bud but you dont have a clue about what your talking about.

Furthermore a direct quote from the Boston Herald

"It was Jacobs who ordered that the 104-point team of 2003-04 be dismantled, believing he’d be able to restock his roster with cut-rate bargains after the lockout. O’Connell, the former general manager, pleaded to be allowed to re-sign free agents Mike Knuble, Michael Nylander and Brian Rolston - all of whom wanted to stay and could have been signed rather cheaply for the last two seasons - but was refused. It was an immediate disaster

You are wrong.  Obviously the author of that article had an agenda..shocking..a journalist working for the herald with an agenda.

I don't know for a fact but am assuming you are a Jacobs. your lack of knowledge regarding what Jacobs has done to this team is scary.

OR you are a Canadians fan and love what JJ has done to the Bruins for 35 years.
