They could be announcing the signing of Boychuk and Wheeler. Julien could be on vacation in Spain.
I would be thrilled if they gave him the gate, but with Hitler's Corpse still on the books until next year, I can't imagine them paying two guys not to coach. -

Just was going to say I saw that too, I would think they team would not want to make a Major announcement about firing a coach, maybe naming his replacement.. -

If it is Julien, my guess would be they didn't want to lost Ramsey to Altanta so they are naming him head coach??
But like Not-a-shot said, they are still paying Lewis and CJ is signed two more years I believe...good thing coaches don't count against the cap. -

I have a hard time thinking that they would make all this fuss about a "Major" announcement to make Neely the Pres instead of VP, wouldn't Julien be in attendance for that? While I guess it's possible, I also don't think it's Julien getting fired either. He's just starting a 3 year extension this coming season.
FA hasn't begun and I think a trade would have been leaked somehow.
Wonder if Jacobs is finally selling? Doubtful, but that would be "major" in my eyes.
Any other thoughts out there? -

The timing of the announcement is also a bit odd to me. The Celtics have a chance to win their 18th title tonight. -

The B's will do anything to get Neely in front of the camera. That's just good marketing. -

Most announcements are labelled as 'major' even if they aren't.
If it was for Cam they would just wait for CJ to be there to announce it wouldn't they?
If it was a signing or a trade would all the coaching staff be there?
I'm really confused as to what it would be. -

I've never looked, but that would mean that the chain of command would be:
1- Pres (Cam's new position??)
2- GM (Chiarelli)
3- VP (Cam's current position)Suppose if that's correct, then it would be pretty big news, just an odd stucture I hadn't thought about.

Agreed, very funny.... but if Stanley is finally moving up, don't you think he would have Wheeler on the attendee list, possibly stuffed in front of the podium a-la Police Academy?
