Mason made $760,000 base then reached $883,000 with bonuses and went from 11 goals in 09' to 25 in 10'. Wonder if it was the same judge who ruled on Clarke MaCarthur"s hearing or do different arbritrator's come in for each hearing ?

An arbiter can't use a "comparable player" in establishing salary unless said player is mentioned in the hearing by one of the parties.

It's my understanding that they can't use UFA signings, but other comparable players are fine.

The Bruins should just show the arbitrator some video of Wheeler's play. If the Bruins did that, Big Wheel would be lucky to get minimum wage. How's that workin' for ya, Stanley?

Lucky to get minimum wage, right. Blake Wheeler will make more playing hockey than most message board posters will make in a lifetime.

...and that makes a huge difference when using it in comparison
