Yeah, but did you see that the rangers have a week schedule the last 3 games. Looking at the Bs schedule they should win their next two games....except they are playing at home, so count on them dropping one or both of them. (only 3 wins at home in 2010. Then, losing against the Caps again. -

The Rangers will beat Toronto then lose both games to Philly that's weak. -

Don't forget that ATL is now officially out with their loss. Best they can do is 85 points and lose the Tie-Breakers to both B's and NYR. -

The good thing about the Rangers loss tonight, in addition to making it harder for them to catch the Bruins, is that they absolutely have to win their next game, or their season is probably over .... and their next game is against the Leafs. -

jerry, that's hilarious, but it's also an insult to Scott Clemmensen. I mean, to compare a guy to Patrick Lalime? That's just cold.

Boston's going to get in with pretty much no doubt. The B's need to win one game, really...that will give them 87 points and leap them over Philly.
Assuming the B's can pick up ONE win against Carolina, BUF or Washington, that gives them 87 points (and I think it's safe to expect at least one win). Let's even assume the worst: that the Rangers beat Toronto tonight (although that's not a horrible thing, either, considering the B's pick). That would leave:
Boston: 87 points
Philly: 86 points
NYR: 84 points
Since NYR plays Philly twice, the only way the Bruins could miss out is if NYR wins both games and one of them goes to overtime/shootout. The odds of that happening are just too slim (and that's if the Bruins only pick up 2 points out of their last 6; any more and the chances of missing out become even slimmer).
Boston and Montreal both were likely to have made the postseason last night. The only thing left is to figure out if they'll be in 6th, 7th or 8th. Considering the (I'll be kind) erratic play of the Bruins, Habs and Flyers, it could shake out a number of ways. My guess is MTL 6, Boston 7 and Philly 8, but who knows?
