Naw man, your wrong, it is 850k, the bonus cushion is back in this season so the bonus money doesn't count towards the cap like last year, you can see the updated cap breakdown little ways down from the morris signing on The Boston Globe Bruins Blog Page, it's the same for Wheeler his cap hit is only 875k compared to the 2+mil last year... -

Bonuses only count against the cap in the last year or potential last year of the collective bargaining agreement. Last year the players had the option to opt out of the CBA making it a potential last year. That's why Wheeler had such a high cap hit last year. Things are back to normal this year meaning that any bonuses earned by players (and only certain players are even eligible to have bonus clauses) this year will count against next year's cap.

Alright, "my man," this is how it works. Rask has a cap hit of 850K for this season, if he earns some of his bonuses, that will count against the cap next year, but he won't cuz the Bruins can manage how many games he plays -

There seams to be a never ending dispute to salary cap hits and limits on these posts, this is from NHLSCAP.com, This seams pretty clear to me, bonuses do count and there is a cushion for bonus oney only with the exception of last season. When teams calculate how much room they have under the cap to add players, any potential bonuses that a player can earn must be included in the player's cap count. For 2005-06 through 2007-08, teams could exceed the Upper Limit by up to 7.5% [the "Performance Bonus Cushion"] in order to pay such bonuses (for 2007-08, teams could effectively have an Upper Limit of $54,072,500) with the provision that any team doing this would have its Upper Limit reduced for the following season by the amount it exceeds the current year's Upper Limit. If the bonus is not paid, no penalty is imposed. [As mentioned above, the Performance Bonus Cushion is not available in 2008-09.] As the season progresses, if a player becomes ineligible for a bonus it will come off the player's cap count and that amount will become available to the team - but only for that season.
For bonuses contracted before the new CBA that are to be paid under the new CBA, those bonuses do not count toward the team's salary cap and are not considered in the calculation of a player's cap number. Only bonuses contracted under the new CBA will count toward the team's salary cap and will be considered in the calculation of a player's cap number.

Think we could package Rask and Kessel for Dipietro? -

I sorta have high hopes for Rask with the Bs. Neely's right: He's a Bruin through and through. That's what he said when Tukka threw his tantrum.
Very entertaining. Rask was just angry because he's been ready for the NHL for so long now and is still playing in a circus.
