Last year, my wife (who doesn't follow hockey) caught part of a Bruins-Flyers game I was watching. After a few minutes, she exclaimed "What is the other team doing? It looks like they are just trying to injure everyone."
Have things changed at all under Laviolette? -

I'm just not hating them right now. I'm sure things will change after tomorrow's game, though! Hartnell and Carcillo will probably end up as the 2 villains.
Now, if we all get our wish and the B's advance against the Habs in the CF, well, yeah, then we can talk about hatred before the puck drops!B's in 5.

I have a lot of hate on for the Flyers based on many games between them and the Leafs back in the Broad Street Bully days.
What makes me laugh is that Paul Holmgren was on the recent panel to discuss how to eliminate head shots in the game.
Paul Holmgren? Unless a zebra can change his spots I don't think his opinion on anything to do with violence in hockey is credible. Almost as bad as asking Bobby Clarke.
Couldn't stand him when he played, can't stand him now.
I hope the Bruins send the Flyers (and their brand of hockey) packing. I don't care how many games it takes.... -

Old (ish)-timers like me will always hate the Flyers for the early-to-mid-70's clashes, but especially for Bobby Clarke, who fully admitted that he routinely slashed at Orr's ankles hoping he would break one.
New reasons: Randy Jones should be enough, but there's also Carillo and his cheesy moustache (you can either make porno films or play hockey but you can't do both), and Hartnell (1986 called and wants its haircut back). They're goons through and through on a team that will be chippy as all get out in the series.
Wish I could predict a Bruins victory but the east playoffs have so far been impossible to predict on any level (even the Pens struggled against an Ottawa team they should have beaten in no more than 5 games.)

I can't stand Mike Richards. I think he is a lil coward. He made so many blind sided hits. One day someone will get back at him pretty bad. I hope that if they start to play dirty that the league will sanction them.

Good call on Dave Brown, not sure how I missed him. Also, since the Bruins ultimately provided the Flyers with Bernie Parent, Reggie Leach and Rick MacLeish, we should be pissed about their two mid-70's Cups. -
