the reality of the boston bruins

Every time the bruins do not re sign their top goal scorer over the years the following season's point total declines.  Between kessel and kobasw, we are out 57 goals from last season.  We will be lucky if the team makes up half that total by seasons end as the bruins are constituted now.  To trade a player who is in a slump after only 7 games is absurd!  After a long summer hiatus, it takes some players awhile to throw off the rust!  Lets not forget the bruins did not re sign some players from last season and have some new ones this year.  It takes time for new players to learn julien's system.  Don't give up yet on the bruins, its too early.  But the reality is that last years team didn't have enough talent to win the Stanley cup.  And this years team does not either.

Shhhh the sheep do not want to hear that...

They want to wave thier pom poms, ignore reality and have visions of sugar plam fairys, and stanley cups in thier head.

All this reality will give fanoboys like dkrejci46 and his assorted cast of dreamers a tummy ache.

Exactly !  7games .  That excuse is good for the Bruins as a whole and it goes for Kobasew also.
I don't think he having only 1 assist was the main reason. Add his salary into the equation and you got your answer. Anyways there are other under achievers in this lineup.
I agree that now on paper we're not as strong as we were last year BUT the key  Marchand and a hungry Sobotka can turn this around ?

Re: the reality of the boston bruins

Sorry but Marchand and Sobotka are not going to make up for the shoddy goaltending, the 57 goals of Kessel & Kobasew, or the inept special teams. The Bruins problems run far deeper then calling up 2 guys from the AHL.
