    Sobotka wins the extra forward slot as Hamill and Marchand were assigned to Providence today.

    Sobotka played well the last few preseason matches, looks like Krejci may play on Thursday

    That's terrific news, though not unexpected. I love Marchand and Hamill, but they'll benefit from more AHL time, especially Hamill. Vladdie's done all he can do in the AHL. Time to play with the big boys.

    ::fingers crossed for Krejci::

    [QUOTE]Yeah at some point you have to give the 1st round 8th overall pick a chance to play. He isn't going to grow 3 more inches or put on 20 more pounds, or turn into a sniper. Because he is a playmaker, i think the Bruins should consider moving him up to get his timing down. The speed of the NHL game is a half-step faster than the AHL, and it would probably help his development to get aquainted

    So, is your point that the Bruins havnt called Hamill up soon enough?

    If so, thats absolutely ridiculous.

    Hamil needs to be on a top 2 line slot in order to have success right now.  He isnt physical at all, nor is he good in his own end yet.  That will come with time.  His present NHL value comes as a top 6 center, and unfortunately for him, Savard and Krecji have those honors.

    He was sent down today, the implication being that Krecji is ready to suit up on opening day.

    Hamil could contribute this season in a top 6 role....but not as a 3rd/4th liner.  Not his game.

    Because people who actually know the game realize that he is a great 4th liner, and a decent 3rd liner.

    Key words being people who actually know the game.

    Recchi is 40 years old and will need an occasional day off, something that Sobotka can provide.
