All the news and weather stations in Boston are in agreement that on Jan 1st Boston will be in the middle of a cold rain storm.
It is supposed to start as snow, then sleet, then freezing rain, then straight rain in Boston starting around 9pm on New Years eve lasting through midday Saturday.

They can play in snow but there is no way they will play through rain which is supposed to last all day and be quite heavy.
Rain falling on the ice will make it IMPOSSIBLE TO PLAY.
Look for the makeup sometime late afternoon on Sat when the system finally moves out. -

There IS a rain date for 1/2, but if the rain doesn't stop until 3pm on the 2nd, then what? Play under the lights? -

under the lights at fenway that should deffintely be a site to see man I would rather have that than the day game
