Looking at that clip,it looks like his left leg was bent in an unnatural position when he fell.

Yeah, i don't know if i would be willing to put out $200.00 for lower bowl season tix with the 1st overall pick out for any extended period of time. On the other hand, the opportunity to watch Shawn Thornton up close for 41 games might make it tolerable.

Ha! Yeah, ST will definitely drive ticket sales. I am sure that's why Tallon got him :)

    As per TSN:

Blueliner Aaron Ekblad won't be taking part at the rest of summer development camp for the 2015 World Juniors, after the 18-year-old was on the receiving end of a big hit in a game against the Czech Republic.

Ekblad was taken off Canada's lineup sheet at practice on Wednesday morning, as both Hockey Canada and the Florida Panthers want to play it safe with the blue chip defenceman.

He was hit hard at the Czech blue line in the third period of Tuesday's 6-2 victory and left the ice. He did not return to the game.

Ekblad was drafted first overall by the Panthers in June.

Canada faces Russia on Wednesday and you can watch all the live action exclusively on TSN.ca and TSN GO at 7pm et/4pm pt.

So maybe nothing to see here?

Head down trying to handle the puck at the offensive blue line? Between the pop and the way his left leg twisted, he's lucky to be skating today.

Re: #1 pick Ekblad rocked, out of WJHC exhibitions

Concussion it is. As per NHL.com:

MONTREAL -- Defenseman Aaron Ekblad suffered a concussion during a Canadian national junior team scrimmage against the Czech Republic Tuesday night after taking a heavy open-ice hit.

Wednesday afternoon, Hockey Canada announced Ekblad would miss the rest of the evaluation camp here, which runs through Friday.

The Florida Panthers, who selected Ekblad with the No. 1 pick in the 2014 Draft, said they expect Ekblad to be ready for training camp in September.

“As announced earlier today by Team Canada, D Aaron Ekblad suffered a concussion during an exhibition game last night. We have been in communication with Team Canada and have mutually agreed to hold Aaron out for the remainder of the summer development camp, as a precautionary measure. We will closely monitor Aaron’s health for the remainder of the off-season and expect him to be ready for our rookie camp in mid-September.”

Late in the third period Tuesday, Ekblad was stickhandling through the neutral zone when he was met head-on at the Czech blue line by defenseman Lukas Klok and from the side by another Czech player. He was sandwiched, went down in a heap, wobbled as he got up and slowly made his way to the Canadian bench before leaving for the dressing room.

Klok, an undrafted 19-year-old, is listed at 5-foot-11, 161 pounds on the official Czech roster, or 4 1/2 inches and 55 pounds less than Ekblad's listed 6-foot-3.5 and 216 pounds.

My season tickets are going to be about $1,200 or so this season.

    Minor league money.

And for that dough, yeah, the home team is terrible, but I get to see the greatest players in the world.

Sure, I hope the Panthers win.  It's always more fun when the home team wins.  If they don't, however, and they get smoked 8-1 by Tampa, I pay my money to see Stampkos tear stuff up.

Best deal in the history of hockey. Laugh all you want.  You dopes pay $100 to see the B's lose 2-0 against Buffalo.  LOL

$1200 for season tickets? Thats a flippin' sweet deal dude. And great beaches to boot. It's too bad most places in Florida make Revere townies look like Harvard grads! lol

Enjoy the games though, I'm jealous!

Second row balcony behind the net are about $550.  I'm a big spender, you know, so I upgrade.

Yes, there are some lower intelligent people down here, but how many do you actually talk to anyway?  Girls here are born to go to the beach and spend the time in the gym getting ready for it.

    And that's awesome.
