I respect the Bruin brass for having an ideology and sticking to it, and I'm not saying they shouldn't have traded him, he clearly wasn't fitting the mold. Getting two NHL ready players, plus two decent looking prospects seems a fair return. Dallas will look like the early winners, but hopefully the players coming this way will pay off over the next few years.

Visiting Oilers and the Leafs are 3-3 at the end of the second.  Lots of back and forth play so far.  Kadri scored on a sharp angle pick on Dubnyk.  Yakupov's a healthy scratch for Edmonton.

In anticipation of the release of Bobby Orr's book, if anyone's interested CBC's The National news program has an interview with Orr and host Peter Mansbridge in Parry Sound in which topics such as his knees, Eagleson and the state of the today's game will be discussed.

Bernier not looking so invincible tonight.  Eberle just made it 4-3 Oilers over Toronto.

Any chance CBC will put a video of the interview after ?

The Oilers couldn't hold on losing in OT 6-5 on a goal by Bolland.

I wouldn't doubt you could see it on their website, San.

Right now it's 1-1 between the homeside Canucks and Habs.  Pretty fast game so far with Price making some big-time stops.  Lots of hits especially in the second period.  However, an own goal by Hamhuis has handed Montreal  a 2-1 he lead.

The Vancouver defenseman had the puck deep in his end to the side of Luongo after being handed the puck by his goaltender.  He lost control of it as the puck squibed its way into the crease and trickled between the feet and over the goal line of the unsuspecting Luongo.

Oilers need to start looking for a defenseman or goaltender.

I know. I watched. That's why I said Bernier was playing good enough to win. Toronto is looking like Boston's biggest competition right now.

To make matters worse that flukey own goal was on a Canuck PP.

True but with issues behind their blueline.

Make that some defencemen and a couple goaltender's. Man what a trainwreck in their own zone. I thought MacT said he wasn't a patient man and some bold moves would be coming. What gives, signing Andy Ference was a bold move? Oilers are bad.

Three things you can always count on, death, taxes, and Leaky Lou letting in a softy or two.

Those multiple richochets were a thing of beauty to watch. And the look on Lou's face when he realized the puck went in...was well...priceless.

Spaeaking of Price, he looked great last night.

Useless NHL player. Still love the beating Lucic gave him a couple of years ago.

Lapierre up to his old tricks, just hit Dan Boyle from behind who  is now getting taken off the ice on a stretcher.

Get rid of the Cooke's and Kaleta's then the NHL would be much better league.

San, we talk about the league getting rid of the goons, but your right. It's these scumbags that need to go.

Flyers continue to flounder.  Especially when Steve Mason has a fluke go in on him tonight in a 3-2 home loss to Vancouver.  Jannik Hansen chipped the puck down the right side.  It rebounded awkwardly off the end boards, got by Mason who left the net to play the puck.  The puck went straight to Ryan Kessler right in the slot for an easy goal into the vacated net.
