Columbus with a prime chance to knock the Laffs down at least a bit and they lose to the Islanders.  Spoy Ler.

Sounds like Nabakov had to work for it stopping 41 shots. And yeah, CBJ had a shot at tieing Toronto with 80 points and 2 games in hand but no.

Detroit bumped the Laffs down a spot, though, getting a point out of Minnesota.  Real turtle derby last night with Toronto, Columbus and Detroit all losing.  Caps and Columbus with two in hand on the Laffs who are now clinging to 8th.

Fletch's scenario may happen, though - Kessel with a late goal to get it close, but not to tie last night.

Got the Lerfs-Blues going, Caps-Kings, very soon Shabs and a game Columbus needs to put up some points. Stars and Hawks later, a good hockey night.

Can't wait to here what Carlyle has to say about his goaltender Bernier giving up 4 goals tonight. Reimer's fault ?

No Malkin, no joy in Mudville! Neal goes to the box with 45 secs left for trying to play with a broken stick. Crosby, of course ,runs to the ref and cries "but were the Dirty Birds. Damn you".

Ovechkin 48th and 49th goal of the year tonight. Trade that bum!

Checked the box score and it was 6 power plays for montreal and 3 for Buffalo.

I didn't watch the game to judge how it was played but this lopsided man advantage in montreal's favor is a regular occurence. In montreal they say its because of their speed other teams take lots of penelties. I say its part because of this and part because they embelish and dive.

Ol Tyler didn't do JACK last night to help his team get much needed points against the Hawks. It was the usual countdown to party time on the bench. The Stars are sinking fast. Time for Seguin to start making plans on Cape beach house rentals this summer.

    Can Montreal catch Pittsburgh ?

6 points is a lot this late in the season. 7 games left for the Shabs.

Yah that seals an already difficult task. Would have been nice though.

The homeside Toronto Maybe Next Years opened the scoring in the first period but the Wings have come back strong in the second with 2 quick ones in 1:32 to lead 2-1.

The game-tying goal was a direct result of a Kessel turnover just inside the Detroit blueline with Toronto on the PP. It led to a breakaway, stopped by Bernier. Gardiner couldn't clear it from his own end. Helm sank the short-handed goal. Make that 3-1 Red Wings. Helm again.

A case for optimism for the Lerfs or concern for Detroit. The Wings are one of the worst third period teams in the league having been outscored 83 to 60.

Not Kessel's fault, it's the fault of his team and goalie.  Ask Marco, he will tell you.  His friends will also tell you.
