    2013/14 Around the League Tracker

I saw the TT and Seguin tracker threads and was considering creating a Rich Peverley one (to the one or two people who care....lol) but held off in favour of making one giant one for all around the league news and scores like we had last season.

    So here it goes:

    In other news around the league, Rich Peverley is set to make his debut in a Stars uniform tonight;

    http://www.nhl.com/ice/blogpost.htm?id=21088&navid=nhl:topheads

Also, did anyone watch LA v. Jets last night? Pavelec looked good as did (gulp) Jokinen. The Kings as a whole did not.

I watched and the Jets took it to the Kings in the physicality department, it was the old fight fire with fire strategy and it worked. Jokinen did look good but Wheeler on the other hand had zero's across the board, not even a shot on net.

Good olde Blake. Tends to be underwhelming (to say the least) once the game gets a little physical.

I too was surprised at how the Kings were a bit outmuscled. That is supposed to be their forte.

Oh well, I am sure Jets fans (and Red in particular) are pleased.

Good game to watch, even if it was one I would not have picked if I had the choice....lol.

It will actually be very interesting to see how he responds in Dallas. He was none too impressive last season. Not at all....

He sure wasn't and it might be too easy to provide a way out for Peverly but i think the lockout set alot of players off their normal season prep work and performance.

All I can say is good luck Rich and I hope you find your game...just not aganst the B's.

Looking at the Stars' roster, Seguin, Peverley, and Benn stick out at me as guys who can put up good numbers on a rebuilding team that'll let them play with a bigger plan towards individual growth rather than playing them in a "system."

Cole, Whitney and Gonchar are at the last gasp parts of their careers .

Interesting juxtposition with the organization's roster choice is it not? Are they rebuilding or do they think they have enough to go for a playoff run by adding a few vets? Seems like they are going for the latter.

Reminds me of the wheelspinning the Flames org has been doing the past decade until they finally decided to go for a full rebuild this season.

Ottawa tied with TO 4-4 with 9 minutes left.

End to end here.....very favourable to TO if this continues.

1:58 into the first period of the Canucks' home opener, the Oilers go up 1-0.  Jeff Petry goes 5-hole on Luongo.  Caschmucks just tied it.  Richardson.

Yuck....both goalies of AHL quality so far (no disrespect to AHL goalies).

At this rate the game will end with a football score (CFL not NFL).

Tonight the NHL Network dumped out of the Toronto - Ottawa game from Hockey night In Canada WHILE IN OVERTIME and switched to their Amateur Hour Broadcast team. Unbelievable.

NHL Network = Hockey Broadcast Wannabe Network. Amateurs, all the way.

Sorry....not tonight. Leafs win in shootout.

The NHL Network dumped out of this broadcast while in overtime to make room for their amateur hour.

Nobody will ever accuse the NHL Network of being professional. There is no evidence.

Very surprising. It was an exciting game even if I did not like the outcome.
