I guess poor ol' Phat Phil hasn't talked to the media in 3 weeks, there isn't much to talk about when you aren't doing much and you know the way reporters are, they could hurt Phil's feelings.

Just watched the last half of the Wings/Leafs alumni game. Seeing the players and hearing the names called of guys like Rick Vaive, Sergei Fedorov, Mike Palmateer, Mickey Redmond, Shayne Corson, Bryan Berard, Dino Ciccarelli, Dave Ellett, Mike "Shakey" Walton and Steve Thomas helps support the reality of how time can blast by.

I'm with you, kel.  It truly does not seem that long ago that we were watching these guys.  I can still clearly recall many times Ricky Vaive would come steaming down the right wing, wind up and blast a slap shot past someone. Like it was yesterday. Meanwhile it was the early 80's.

Both goalies in the Winter Classic are wearing old-time brown equipment.  Fair amount of snow coming down.  With that there's a lot of dumping in off the puck and hounding on the forecheck.  Hughson said over 100, 000 people are at the game. Still scoreless in the first.

Leafs being outshot 19-10 and Detroit's carrying the play but Bernier's been sharp. Still scoreless with under 8 minutes left in the second.  When Toronto has broken through Howard's been solid.

Make that 1-0 Wings.  Alfredsson scores on a 2 on 1 with Zetterberg after a bad pinch by Franson.  The snow has eased up a bit.

Bernier just made some great saves to keep this game at 1-0. Red Wings have picked up the pace.

VanRymsdyk batted the puck out of mid air to the left of Howard to tie it 1-1.

Visiting Rangers schooling the Toronto in all phases of the game; beating them to pucks, forcing them into mistakes, shots on goal and boxing Leaf forwards out of the crease. Completely outworking them.

They're making the Leafs look disinterested and now lead 3-0 with just over 6 mins left in the second. Pouliot with the third NY goal. Cam Talbot in goal for NYR.  Kreider just made it 4-0.  ACC's a mausoleum.
