    A Nor'easter

As of today, 4 of the top 6 teams in the Eastern Conference are in the Northeast Division.  Only Buffalo is out of a playoff spot.  Only the Penguins and Devils ride with them.  Carolina is 5 points behind the Laffs, but sit above them in the standings only by virtue of being in the toilet division.  Isn't that what it's called?  The toilet?

A hockey season is a marathon, not a sprint... the race isn't over yet.

As bad as Washington has been they are still 4 points back of 1st place Carolina. The SoutLeast needs some more cowbell...don't worry Theodore is working on his SV%, Florida is going to come back you just watch.

The SE is just sad, but hey if the fact that the Jets are tied for the division lead wih 19 points is what it takes for them to get into the playoffs I'll take it, even if it is because they end up being the least sucky of a bunch of sucky teams.

    Re: A Nor'easter

I know some people have an aversion to numbers here, but consider this:

If the NE teams were to play all of it's next 15 games against teams from other divisions, and loose them all, they would be down to 0.500 against other divisions.

If the SE teams were to play all of it's next 14 games against teams from other divisions, and win them all, they would be up to 0.500 against other divisions.

What a punching bag that division is.

That's why this latest "sweep" needs to be accepted for what it is.
