How is Joe "can't miss" Colbourne doing anyway? Bud fans don't talk about him very much any more...

If you make a trade to get a good player for a run at the cup you will need to give up a good player/prospect in return.

Can't move this kid -- he's putting up Yannick Riendeau-like numbers in junior...

I highly doubt he would bolt for the KHL for quite some time. If he would he would have stayed there. he wants to play in NA. he won't go to the K until it looks like he can't play here

Nor did I understand why Radulov came back last season just to return to the KHL. The last Russian forward the B's expended resourses on was Zinoviev who came over for a cup of coffee and promptly returned to the motherland....set a bad precedent.
IIRC, I think Radulov returned to Nashville simply to fulfill the last year of his contract. He is now an NHL UFA(isn't he?) playing in the KHL.

lol....wasn't Riendeau like 21 years old when he had his big "breakout" in juniors? Must have been tough for him playing against 16 year olds..... -

Technically he is still an RFA:http://stats.nhlnumbers.com/teams/NAS?year=2012
I wonder if the Preds will ever get around to qualifying him....:)

I still don't think it would be a good idea to trade Koko for a rental.
I now see Stanley said don't trade Koko. Oh great. Trade him, he's doomed.

Bookboy I disagree. I would only do a deal that could take some solid prospects away if I'm getting more than a rental. The team doesn't need Perry. He doesn't fit and forcing him to could do more harm than good regardless of the talent level.
BAWHAAAA! Cory Perry would fit on ANY hockey team! Comon!! -

Colborne has Hamill-like numbers.
Colborne - 10-23-33 in 54 games.
Hamill - 16-19-35 in 53 games. (Two teams).
Hamill has been a point/game guy in his 13 games with San Antonio. Colborne was atrocious to start the year, but he's put up more points in the second half of the year with Kadri and Aucoin gone, and the Marlies are still leading their division, so he can't be playing terribly. But again...Zach Hamill numbers. Imagine if Kaberle, however small his contribution, really was the difference between a Cup and no Cup. And imagine if they'd said "no, we can't give up Colborne!"

Yeah, but Koko bolted from the KHL to North America this year. Seems like Koko wants North America.Iguess we will see if he goes to Providence, after OHL season over, don't think Windsor has chance to make playoffs
He originally went from the ohl to the khl and promptly returned. Can you honestly tell me what his intentions are? They seem all over the map. -

if we're moving him in a trade for iginla or perry i'm okay with it. for a guy like clowe or something i'm not.
fyi, his return to junior coincided with the lockout ending. I think he wanted to be able to go to providence at years end.
No chance of Bruins getting Perry for prospects or draft pics. -

Exactly, but obviously there are some that can't tell the difference, or are not knowledgeable enough to pick out the difference.

47 points in 26 games for Windsor,is he a player you consider trading,at deadline for a veteran player, probably just a rental player,I don't think i would do it.
Trade him to the Leafs for Nazem Kadri now. If they (Leafs) wait til after the season - the price goes up. Kadri won't be enough. -

I wasn't saying they are the same player, they are both impact players that play first line minutes and score goals. They are also big names that were thrown around saying "hey we should go get him and bring him here because he can fit anywhere." -
